What are you doing today? (besides shopping)

PTO and a long, much needed holiday weekend for me. Attending a baptismal this Sunday. I made a shopping trip just for doggies. Ground chicken, ground turkey, ground beef, blue berries, sweet potatoes, Fresh Pet Kibble, Baby Bell Cheese, Swiss cheese, provolone cheese, bananas, carrots, Milk Bones, chew bones. Why? Because we love them to infinity. :-)

Just heard from a hometown neighbor on Facebook...

Haven't heard from him since childhood. He's another STEM graduate. After college he moved to CO and met his spouse, a CO native. Raised three boys. All launched, Moved again, last fall, to another home in-state with 25 acres.
Completed a one on one Zoom meeting and made excellent money. Total time expended? One hour and 10 minutes in the comfort of my home.
I cleaned and did some laundry. Not going to my SIL's BBQ tomorrow. All the natives are going so it's going to be just me at home with the furry baby loves and possibly my dear Mama. She hasn't decided yet. We are not able to leave terror puppy with anyone; We would never do that to someone, LOL. Can't wait for a day of semi quiet. I wish everyone a memorable holiday weekend honoring all those who made the biggest sacrifice. God bless America.
So far sitting in bed. I want to go hiking tomorrow., if I get things done today, like seeds in garden. But my body is protesting being on my feet for two straight weeks of subbing.
And it's a strenuous hike, not sure I could keep up.

Noticing all the posts I missed during the last few months. That would require looooooot of reading...

I bit the bullet and bought a dishwasher yesterday. It's a Bosch 800 with a bunch of bells and whistles.

As much as you hike, you are going to be fine. With a little push, you are going to be fine!

Nice to see you @Shop-et-al

@HonnyBrown thank you for the vote of confidence. I just did not do enough activity over the winter.
I joined one Sunday hike two weeks ago and I was just huffing and puffing the whole time.
The other hikers in that group use these Sunday hikes to socialize and they head off on really strenuous hikes over the summer.

They don't expect us all to be at their level, but they aren't happy to wait too often.

One day I helped Scout a trail before the hike with the part of the group who are local. It was hot and I just struggled that day. After I made to the top of one hill the leader told me they had stopped for a break anyway. She added "And it's not an FU break, were not restarting until you're ready." grinning smiley

That is what happens. They wait for the stragglers then immediately take off at a good clip because they are rested.

Anyway, I enjoy the group, so I've got to get myself fitter. Yesterday's yard work had an impact on my muscles. So outside to keep at it.

Down the rabbit hole of seemingly endless links. Ended up looking at a $49,900.00 gizmo that supposedly relieves lymphedema. Sooooooo glad I do not need that.

We're going on a picnic today...so I am making sammiches and salad to bring. Others are bringing homemade cookies, salads, snacks....we're all meeting at a nice state park, then heading out to do some genealogical research in the area.
Back to my house later for a cold drink and bonfire.
peace all.
In between storm showers, I need to get out on my land with my chainsaw and cut down dead limbs on my trees. Every week, I fill four 30 gallon trashcans with wood to be disposed of. It is a never-ending task. I am also going to order a new sink for my kitchen and schedule my next horseback riding lesson.
Book Club tonight. Happiness Falls by Angie Kim is the book.
