What are you doing today? (besides shopping)

For those opting to receive COVID vaccines, be sure to keep a log of any and everything different in your body over the next year or so.

I'm watching Survivor 18 Tocantins in Brazil and watching it snow. Going for a walk later and will Make spaghetti sauce with ground chuck, swt onion, fresh garlic, oregano, bay leaf, crushed tomatoes and fresh spinach. I'm not planning on keeping a diary of effects from the second covid vaccine. I don't believe everything on the internet and don't know anyone that has had anything negative from either vaccine. smiling smiley
@heather shops: In my world, there are no reports of strong or long-lasting reactions. There are a few reports of mild reactions. Even Dr. Fauci had a reaction. It was mild. According to experts, reactions are signs that immune systems are coming to life in response to the vaccine stimulus. Everyone is unique, and there are individual differences. Some people will have responses; others will not.

Lucky you! You get to walk outdoors in your snowy world. I can't even go out the front door because snow has blown in and covered it. It felt good when I opened the door to take a peek at the snow peaks. The snow blast on my face was refreshing and far more effective than caffeine.

I hope it all goes well for both of you!

@kimmie,
Yeah, I'm a fairly tough cookie, with a fairly strong constitution at my age (68 in 3 weeks). I feel like my immune system is pretty hardy, so I hope I do OK with the shots. Hubby today just felt a little more tireder than usual after his first shot yesterday, but no other side effects. Arm was just a tad sore but is OK now.

Neither hubby nor I ever take the flu or pneumonia vaccine, so how we react to the vaccine, especially after the second shot, will be all new to us!!

Monday! My completely free day. I am so pleased with my progress report today. Yesterday, I [somehow] managed to start a new donation pile, clear four spaces, and separate things into 'now and 'later' bins. I even managed to watch a few fun things and take a nap. This will make no sense, except to people who have let things pile up for years instead of breaking it all down when they should. The highlight of the day was when I rescued a trapped snow shovel. Necessarily, it resides near the neighbor's front door (architecture thing) and I measured, thought, and estimated it would take less than thirty seconds to wade knee-deep into snow, lift it up and out, and relocate it to the space between doors. (I need to do things in stages). So today my brave task is to design and implement the least back-destructive way to clear even a small path to the sidewalk so that we can go to work eventually. The snow is not deep near cars, and we can probably get out of the parking lot. We just need to get out of the canopy and onto clear ground. The heavy drift blocking my path is about three feet high. *flexes muscles and asks hubby if he wants to be the hero and move the first ton of snow away from the front door*

eta

I am the hero. Hubby gazed blankly. I started the project. Walls and courtesy prevent me from throwing snow to the left or the right, which is a typical method. On the left, there is a wall. On the right, there is the neighbor's front door. This is almost fun! I climbed over show and am bringing it down a little at a time.

Rescheduling Wednesday shop because I just got a firm appointment for first Moderna vaccine that morning. Finally ! And, no waiting in long lines !

Quick trip to UPS to ship an Amazon return, then collect dry cleaning across the street. Also, sneezing all night and today due to early heavy pollen here. Cannot take meds for it because they would conflict with my daily meds. Sigh, achoo !

I am looking to pick up more fast food establishments. I found companies that do Arby’s, five guys, Jack-in-the-Box, canes and sonic. Does anybody have any other leads of companies that do the many other mystery shop fast food establishments?
I had my second shot today. The appointment was for 4 p.m. but the wind chill was -12 when I walked this morning sooooooo. My ride cancelled and then my second and third ride cancelled. I called the pharmacy and told them I wasn't walking when it is this cold >>> so they said "come on up whenever you can." I immediately grabbed my phone, called the bus and ran down, went and got my shot. Woohoo... Yippee.... hurray...... I am so happy. I brought my book and only waited 10 minutes, Second shot is same as first.
I listened to a very interesting book this weekend called "Craigslist Confessional."

A lady was moved to listen to anonymous people with no judgement. She posted an ad on Craig's List, left her DC lobby job, and dove into listening full time. The book is a compilation of some of the people she listened to: a myriad of everyday issues to bizarre ones to absolutely heartbreaking.

Did the twice-monthly stockup grocery shopping. Costco had people handing out samples (in white paper sandwich bags, rolled up to seal, with instructions to not eat anything inside the store). Back at home I processed and baked off the kabocha squash I bought at the Asian market, then processed and baked the seeds.

The second shot didn't hit me until hours later. Hopefully you will be ok

Cooking the corned beef for tomorrow's St. Patrick's dinner. I will refrigerate it and the cooking liquid so I can remove all the fat before I cook the cabbage, potatoes, and carrots tomorrow.

Got my first Pfizer shot yesterday. Just a slightly achy arm muscle today, nothing else.

Raining all day here today, so just sort of lazing around today. Will do some laundry in a bit.
I have a Shepard's Pie in the freezer for tomorrow's dinner. I got a WaWa reward for a Matcha. I redeemed it today. I never have to drink that again.

Something is wrong with my friend and I don't know how to help her. I'm on red alert because my hiking partner committed suicide.

I have a "crick" in my neck from sleeping wrong. I have a bunch of prescription painkillers and muscle relaxers but no Alleve. I took a painkiller last night. I slept well, but I was very loopy today.

Word on the street is... we are going back to work tomorrow. It's okay. I used my time well, achieved the purpose of this thread to a great extent, and am glad to do something else besides chortle about this and that completed project. I spent time on projects, cleaning, and fun things. Because the projects are hard on the back, I get to sit in the one chair that supports it properly and watch movies or play online. This is a good thing.
It makes up for not being able to work non-stop and complete tasks quickly,

@HonnyBrown: you are brave. I do not use the good meds. I use heat, ice, props, and basic otc's. My next thing to try, should I need it, is a combination product. Supposedly, there is a product that combines acetaminophen and ibuprofen. The two together are said to work quickly and reduce inflammation while addressing pain. Your doc could tell you if this is a possibility for you. Presumably, it would not make you loopy...

Thanks wales! I only take them at bedtime with a glass of wine.

I got my tax refund on a prepaid debit card due to a shop. After some runaround by the card company, I ended up going to my bank to transfer the money to my savings account. Guess where my stimulus check went.

Not much. It is a gray, chilly, rainy day. I would love to just stay in bed. But, laundry and house-tidying chores call. I had my first Moderna vaccine yesterday. No ill effects except sore shoulder at the injection site. Treating myself by making cinnamon rolls for breakfast.

I'll be right over...I love cinnamon rolls. Glad you're doing OK.

Work and extra work x 3. That was a lengthy ordeal: roads were horrendous and much worse than usual, we got stuck a few times, and the volume of work was three times more than usual because we had three days' worth of work to do. Can you whimper, 'I feel like a baby that has been shaken for hours and hours and hours?' Ow!

In a few minutes, I get to respond to official mail and explain why I learned on 03/18 that I must reply by 3/15. Mail could not reach me for a few days due to a blizzard. Then, I get to explain why I choose their stated outcome or consequence. You will need to wish me luck (and maybe sprinkle around a few miracles) with this giant step in the right direction.

I called the card company to let them know my stimulus hit and I no longer had my card. After some discussion, they offered to send the funds via check and completely close the card...YAY!

Opening bank accounts to earn a nice fat bonus from the bank (NOT a shop). I learned about this bonus deal while doing a bunch of very simple platform shops at branches of the bank. The banker who told me about the bonus deal (Several hundred dollars) was so impressive, in so many ways, that I knew that I had found my new bank. I have been needing a new bank for about 4 months, due to several intractable problems with Chase's phone app. The branch where I will return to open the accounts is practically next door to the grocery store that I frequent. I was also very favorably impressed by bankers at several other branches of this bank, but will definitely want the one who introduced me to the deal, and who also amazed me with some other aspects of their services, to have the credit for my new accounts.
