What are you doing today? (besides shopping)

High winds and rain, then snow. It is freezing here. I did not go out and did taxes and laundry all day. Did not cook so Uber Eats it was.

I volunteered to house the items necessary for my fellowship to offer hybrid meetings. Completely underestimated how much that was! After yesterday's tear down the back seat of my CR-V was completely full. Now I have to reorganize a closet to get it off the floor in my office.

How would you describe the taste. I like black tea but I have a hard time finding a smooth brand that I like.
Binge-watching Hamish Macbeth. There is only one more episode. This leaves enough time to finish my workout and take a nap before work.

More Freecycling; identifying stuff to take to Goodwill; identifying stuff to take to charity thrift shop; 3 loads of laundry; nap; 1 quick errand; kp.

Based in MD, near DC
Shopping from the Carolinas to New York
Have video cam; will travel

Poor customer service? Don't get mad; get video.
More laundry, a little bit of tax work and now prepping pasta with Feta cheese and spinach in my pressure cooker. Went to the bakery this AM and bought fat loaves of Italian Bread and Ciabatta rolls. Tonight I will catch up on "Top Chef."
Free-form day here. Waiting to find out when hubby can get appointment and go to the doc. He is still coughing, which has happened before and long before Covid-19. It was so long ago that i have forgotten what the solution was! When we have his schedule, I can fit the rest of the day's events into their new time slots. For now, I am enjoying a sweet morning: win at Jumble, do the deeper stretch (AAAaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhh.....), and continue the fave book that I began to re-read several days ago.

Well, getting my AT&T landline switched over to an older cell phone of mine (ZTE Blade X with Android 7.1.1!!) that I set up with Mint Mobile. On Mint's end, it's all complete. On AT&T's end, they said it will be done by midnight tomorrow....go figure. I can call and text from my cell with my landline number, but can't yet receive calls or texts on it. So for another day, at least, I can use my landline number on both my landline and cell. The tech person from AT&T said that happens with them.

Now....I also recently bought a VTech set of 2 "Connect to Cell" phones that allows you to connect your cell phone to these VTech phones via Bluetooth. These can be used with or without a landline, so I will be using them without a landline. While I was waiting for AT&T to do their stuff, Mint gave me a temporary number, so I've got all the bluetooth stuff set up. And it works great!! So now, I can pay less for my phone using Mint, my husband (technologically challenged, haha!) can make and receive calls on these VTech phones that look almost identical to the other VTech phones that we have for our landline, we don't have to worry about changing numbers for the several who rely on this number bc it will now be on a cell phone, and we'll be good to go! And once it's all done, if I find any other plans cheaper than Mint for what I want, all I'll have to do is switch SIMs and port the number over...it will be easier than doing it with a landline, which will have ended up taking about 5 days total when it's all done.

This morning was 20 minute Pilates that was actually 15 minutes, and 20 minutes of Walking with Leslie.

Who knew house cleaning could make you sick. An enthusiastic parent whose daughter started going to school after two long years decides to tackle all the dust that had gathered on those not easy to reach places/nooks/crannies..What does it get her..hay fever coz she should have used a mask. Well, antibiotics and allergy meds make me feel better but anytime, I lie down I straight doze off. On the brighter side, the house looks sparkling clean so that's something.
Hubby and I subbed for money counting at church. Afterwards we took a walk and picked up ingredients for St. Patrick's Day dinner. Made a big deal out of Pi Day (which is also called 314 Day here, in honor of the original area code).

I emptied my garage freezer and put the contents out for trash. I saved the bread. This morning, I did a boosted Walk with Leslie. I cleaned up the kitchen. I might make shrimp scampi tomorrow.

My day took a turn when the associate at a senior living center I hoped to visit tomorrow had no availability and suggested I come today. Although I had already completed one senior shop I agreed. The two reports made my day a little crazy, but I managed to cook corned beef for Thursday and walk up to Walgreens to pick up a prescription.

Quickie visit with mil. Hubby started the day well. He was in high dudgeon and pissed off his mom immediately. She made him shut up and threatened to kick him out of her house. Later, he started up again. She cried, pled for mercy, and fled to the privacy of a back room after kicking him out. Oh, my. That was the most intense drama I have experienced with them. Perhaps they will be okay tomorrow. At least they will be hours and miles apart He is welded, practically, to his belief in the fairy tale money. If he gives the scammers money on demand, they will give him lots of money in return for his efforts. He duly gives away his money and they never pay him. But in better news, we saw birds migrating. So many birds! I could have watched them for hours as they flew through their rotations in their formations. Spring really is coming in my weather-y part of the world. smiling smiley

I did see Canada Geese Sunday. Spring is coming. Seems early for the geese and certainly no open water. ?
@Shop-et-al, that is such a worry about that money! I couldn't stand that.
Worked the day job. Dealing with my dad who's in the hospital -- he was supposed to have been transferred to a rehab facility but when they looked at his feet they noticed a new sore that had to be treated. He complained to the nurses about it all weekend so why they didn't look is beyond me. Had 2 calls for my transformational learning program, had dinner, and now vegging. I have enough other things to do that I probably should drag myself away from the computer, but it's been a long day.
The larger concern is where he places his boundary lines now. How did scammer get such control of him that all reason and awareness of others and consequences have evaporated? If you are a scammer, you are in and in control. All others need not apply. I do understand that he wants his own life, and we all see that he is trying to get the big bucks in this extraordinary way. "Get rich quick and get out" is his plan, essentially. It is not working for him.

How disrespectful, cruel and unloving. Why not kick him out and give him his own life if he wants it so badly? Sounds to me he is more of a liability than an asset. He has you to rely on. Maybe I should keep my mouth zipped but i do not understand why you are emotionally and financially supportive. What do you like or love about your relationship?

He "should" go. He has been making noises for years. He is unable to organize himself around making the necessary changes (find out what it will cost, save enough money, etc.). If ever he leaves, little will change. I will still pay for everything here. The biggest changes are that it will be quieter and more peaceful here and he will have to pay for his own life somewhere else. He will never be able to do that. He never has been able to do that. See how he is trying to get the money from others that would replace what he has not saved all these years? He is justifying his horrendous behavior because he wants out and is unable to leave unless someone funds him. His mom said I should be in charge of his money as well as mine. At the same time, he is in decline and having more and more behavioral incidents otherwise. It might not be necessary to anything at this time except wait and see. So that is enough of the serious stuff. I appreciate your words of wisdom, though.

The lighter side of the day is all about finishing a book and sorting clothes. Some are finally so big on me that they can be donated. This leads to yet another project: dealing with my closet. Every few years I do something with it. This is the year to do the next thing with it.

Did a volunteer shift at the cat adoption center. The best part is definitely being able to play with the residents! Hit up a mattress shop on the way home. This afternoon helped Hubby drop off his car for service, then we took a walk before coming home. Zoom meeting tonight.

Sipping green tea all day has reduced my appetite. The caffeine level doesn't affect my sleep. I am loving this stuff.

Listing a lot more on Freecycle; changing both my phone plan and my TV/Internet plan with Verizon; KP (kitchen is a mess); fold and store laundry.

Was supposed to drive to city and have lunch with Highschool friends. Got up, got things done and was just about to get spiffed to go and It got rescheduled! Kind of a nice feeling to stay home after things got done.
Supper is in slow cooker, so a long walk or snowshoe is in order! Then fire and read and book.

@Shop-et-al- take care. And take care of your own money!
