I forgot why I dont drink that much UNTIL THIS MORNING

I do not tolerate alcohol well so honestly I usually cannot drink more than a drink or 2 ALL NIGHT without getting VERY TIPSY. Last night however I got some wine that I really liked and I drank to much of it. I have not had a hang over in YEARS , until today. Of course I had a full day scheduled . I had some windows in some of the shops and contemplated asking for an extension on the others but decided against it. I suffered through the day and got the work done...but I can promise you it will be YEARS before I put myself through THAT again.

A wine hangover is the WORST hangover

There are reasons that a body stays in motion
At the moment only demons come to mind
I now remember...but I wont forget again.
Drinking at all makes me feel like crap. You have my sympathies.
Oh my, I can relate. But, I love my wine. And my martinis. And my rum and cokes...etc. But it is a lesson in moderation. When things taste really good it's hard to keep a handle on it, though. Best thing to do is to drink a lot of water and take Ibuprofen before you go to bed so you don't wake up feeling crappy. Hope you feel better soon.
And the older you get, the longer it takes to recover!
You should drink more wine to build up your tolerance.

It's way less expensive to not do that. But, a glass or 2 every day is good for you according to some doctors, as I am sure you know...and I sometimes drink a couple more than that. Like last night. I drank a whole bottle by myself (everyone else was drinking Cab, I was drinking Sauvignon Blanc). But, that was over the course of 5 hours and I was sipping slowly, then I drank lots of water before bed, so I felt fine today.
I think one of my problems is I am perpetually dehydrated....I drink wayyyyyyyy too much coffee. I wish I had to tolerance for that
Yes, that's a problem. I drink water all day long. I have one cup of coffee or tea in the morning sometimes, but not every day, and I never drink soda or juice (unless it's as a mixer for cocktails).

Yep, hangover = dehydration. If you were already dehydrated it would make it even worse. Glad you were able to get your shops done.
I learned a very valuable lesson when I was in mid 20's. I went out to drink with a coworker and my company's client to hang out. They were drinking wine or what have you like water. Whenever I finished my glass of wine, which I drank slowly, they would quickly refill it. Well, you see how the rest of the evening went. I ended up stinking drunk, which I never had done before. Next morning, I had a bad hangover of course but I saw how my face looked. It looked like I had aged 20 years because my face had so many wrinkles. Maybe I was dehydrated from all of the alcohol. So, that was the first and last time I had a hangover.
I' not a wine drinker, 3 sips puts me to sleep, but give me a Cosmo and I'm good to go.....

Live consciously....
JAS, I can drink a bottle of a medium body chard on a Saturday with no ill effect. It took me a while to build up that tolerance. A cab or malbec, on the other hand, will knock me out!

A martini, I haven't had in a long time. Now THAT was a hangover! I sipped it the same way I do wine.

My Dad and I have the three drink deal. Neither one of us can have 3 drinks of certain alcoholic beverages without violently throwing up for a solid 3 days. He can't do gin. I can't do wine.
