What have you learned from MSing....
From mystery shopping, I have learned to separate "me" from assignments. This is good for my family. Many available assignments are undone here, but the family remains free to choose how to handle things in ways that do not involve mystery shopping. This is the best lesson of all. The next best lesson came from comparison shops. How do various things compare? What is a reasonable or appropriate basis for comparison? I am much better at this now because of performing comparison shops.

I have learned that my brain really likes the focus. I am the perennial head in the clouds type, always wondering about the meaning of life and complex, remote, philosophical types of things.
Mystery shopping makes me come down out of the clouds and focus on something rather pedestrian, is the CSR wearing glasses? But my brain enjoys it and therefore I do too.

David, could you please enlighten us to what MS companies you have worked for? In past threads, you have not indicated that you worked for ANY MS companies at all.

MSing also gives seniors purpose, having been a shopper all my life, but professionally for 11 years, enjoy helping business in my small way. Feeling like one contributes , improving one's lifestyle, fancy dinners, fancy hotels, 10 years of free oil changes, etc. make's me feel independent and not having to depend on anyone, great feeling. Keeps mind in today's world, daughter proud of me.....what more is there? The Boutique companies I have built a relationship with have become friends (if you will), and have meaning in my life.

I've learned, among other things, that credit companies pay a lot to get our business, that businesses need customers more than customers need businesses, that crew members' conformance to guidelines is the tape that holds companies together, that a moment in time can really wreck you and that a good fry is hard to come by.

I looked at the volume. Irene has made 11,000+ posts and a few here and there have been moderated, which is comparable to most of us. You have made 82 posts and it looks like about 10% have been moderated. That's pretty massive.
It has never been my experience that Mystery Shopping is requiring me to "......seek intuitive insight" but is requiring me to answer their questions asked based on the occurrences during the shop.
