What's the oddest thing you ever cooked?

My father made me help him cook tripe when I was younger. The smell was horrendous, made me sick. He told me it was the lining of a cow's stomach, GROSS!

The oddest thing I ever cooked was probably when I made blackeyed peas but substituted lulu kebob meat instead of bacon or ham hocks. It tasted fine to me. Maybe I could pass it off as fusion cuisine.

Haha!! That's OK, Irene!! Sorry they didn't turn out right for you! Thanks for the chuckle!
I read the heading as "Oldest thing" and was going to say my grandmother but...nevermind.
You cooked your grandmother?!?!

Nahhh. Just being silly. But a girl I had worked with got cut up, partially cooked and eaten by her boyfriend. I think it freaked me out a little. I may be emotionally damaged. Nah, being silly again. But the Addie (the girl who got eaten) story is true. In the news and everything.
I didn't cook it myself but found ostrich to be really yummy. I am also a big fan of bison.

Hi Lisa, we missed you! At least I did. What's new?

My husband loves ostrich, but we have never cooked it. He ate it in a salad at a restaurant a couple of times. He ate fried crickets, too and said that they weren't bad. He likes elk. I've never cooked anything too odd I guess. I must be not very adventurous!
Hi Lisa, long time....I as well love Bison, but jobs we do never serve it, way too pricey.

While my flowers still sit in the nursery pots I'm sitting watching the rain for what feels like the 40th day in a row. It's so green it could be Irelandsmiling smiley

Many years ago (stop me if this is a repeat), I thought I was so sophisticated ordering Escargo, it was the inn thing at the time, now seems to have disappeared. Tasted a bit like chicken and saturated with both butter and garlic....those were the days. The name of the restaurant was "George's Bistro", french and very very....
