Multiples of Mystery Shoppers?

Apparently, we cannot be a murder, a parliament, or an exaltation. What can we be? Inquiring minds want to know. Consider the following from One Tree Hill.

Haley James:
[Small flock of birds just flew at her] Damn! What is up? I was attacked by a flock of crows last week! I'm totally serious!

Lucas 'Luke' Scott:
By the way, it's a murder.

Haley James:
What?

Lucas 'Luke' Scott:
More than one crow is a murder.

Haley James:
I don't know what the hell you're talking about.

Lucas 'Luke' Scott:
A parliament of owls, an exaltation of larks... a murder of crows.

Haley James:
I think that is why people think you're weird, right there.

Lucas 'Luke' Scott:
I would like to show him sometimes, what a mistake he's made.

Haley James:
Dan?

Lucas 'Luke' Scott:
Mostly for Mom... and sometimes for me.

Haley James:
So Luke, what are ravens? I mean, you know, more than one?

Lucas 'Luke' Scott:
An unkindness.

Based in MD, near DC
Shopping from the Carolinas to New York
Have video cam; will travel

Poor customer service? Don't get mad; get video.
Did not understand one word, someone is playing with us, or living in a different world.

Live consciously....
Irene, those really are the terms used for multiples of various animals. So, not nonsense at all.

I'm a city girl, if it's not a dog or cat...I don't have a clue what all that means.

Live consciously....
So. We have options. Upload? Perspective? These sound good to me! smiling smiley

But you have heard of a herd of cows, a gaggle of geese, etc.

An "MSPAconference" of shoppers. About the only way you'd see more than one in the same place!
There is an interesting book, entitled "An Exaltation of Larks," by James Lipton, that discusses the collective names of many animals. As shop-et-al points out, murder is the collective noun for multiples of crows; parliament is that for owls. It is a very interesting book. Possibly out of print (it was first published in 1968), the ISBN is 0 14 00.4536 8. If you're interested in such things, you'll find it to be a fascinating read.

Oh, this is so good. I'm going to have to share it in home school with my kids tomorrow.

In grammar, we are learning about parts of speech. We were working on nouns and talked about collective nouns: One that describes many..... ex: mountain RANGE (many mountains; one range) and FAMILY (many members; one family)....and in this lesson, we talked about the congresses, flocks, herds, etc. smiling smiley

I will ask them what they think MSers should be collectively known as.

I like the perspective, observatory, rant, survey, detail, espionage...all are so good and bring a chuckle smiling smiley
