PM information

I get many request's on my PM asking for names of MSC's that do certain jobs....does this go against our ICA agreegement? I would not think so because it's personal, thought's please.

Each ICA is different (or at least intended to be), but as a general rule, I think that is exactly the sort of information sharing the ICA's are intending to prohibit, Unless you personally know the person you are PMing.

What's to stop a Starbucks employee from joining a forum, asking who shops them and then joining the MSC (I use this example because it actually happened)?

Something like that can completely undermine a MS program for a client and cause them to look for another provider, or cancel their program entirely.

It's more than just a case of "I've got mine" when I don't want to share that sort of information with strangers over a PM. Perhaps this will slow any requests to me for that type of information. I don't feel comfortable getting those type of requests or answering them.
The ICA applies whether it is a private message or a public billboard. We are NOT free to share this information.

Poor customer service? Don't get mad; get video.
Thanks Steve and W/Maven...I was curious, thought it wasn't right. I always looked and researched my need for info.....I think after reading this, folks won't get offended or ask so much, it is uncomfortable to refuse, or to answer.

It's not "The ICA", there's a different agreement for each company. Some might not even prohibit you from revealing client information.

But as a rule, treat propriety information as confidential. Technically you shouldn't even tell your family who shops who. In reality, this is silly because most employees know who shop them. It's something that routinely gets leaked around the workplace.

And yes, you better believe employees from various companies sign up as shoppers. I was talking to my son's friend (who works at McDonalds), and he told me that his coworker not only knows the correct company that shops them, but he signed up for that company and has the questionnaire.

If I can personally find an instance of this happening, you better believe this is happening regularly. Especially among companies that offer rewards for successful shops.
I have been on both sides, I have indeed sent a PM asking for a "hint" or flat out answer if they were so willing to give it, as well as have been PM'd and asked who does _________. I will say I have been more then appreciative of those willing to HELP me as I hope those I have helped are as well.

Kind of follows the "you wash my back, ill wash yours" rule.
Justme..it's not a question of do we want to help, it's a question of are we not living up to our signed ICA agreegment by giving out this information. Steve's post explained it in depth.
