Printer problems

Well my printer is offline and I can't seem to get it back working. The printer sounded like a machine gun so I tried to get that sound gone and I took if offline. Now the instructions say to unplug the router and plug it back in. I feel stupid saying this but I am afraid to unplug it as I am afraid the TV won't work if I do. If I didn't have my TV during this time of quarantine I would be having major problems. I just need someone to convince me that my TV will be ok if I unplug the router and plug it back in. I really feel foolish asking this. I will need the printer for when mystery shopping is up and running again and I can print the reports, etc. Thank you.

Call your cable company, ask them to check your router, tell them your computer is running slow. No need to mention printer.
Your TV will be okay if you unplug the router and plug it back in. In fact, leave it unplugged for 30 seconds or so before plugging it back in.

I get printer issues from time to time and have used the above method. Once or twice in the past five years I have had to remove it from the device list and then add it back with an updated driver.

I hope your problem is easily resolved.

Her printer issues are independent of the internet provider. If she can connect other devices to her router via WiFi, then the problem is the printer. What they need to do is reconfigure the printer. So on your computer, “uninstall” the printer which means it’ll delete the driver. Then connecting the printer via USB cable, reconfigure the printer. The easiest way to do it is to lookup the printer model and download the installer which will do all the wireless setup for you.

Btw, your cable will be okay if you unplug your modem.

All of your TV features will function except for the smart features which are on wifi. It's always a good idea to reboot your router periodically so updates can be pushed. I do mine the first of the month. Since my tvs are connected to the router for both wifi and the cable signal, I have no tv for 10-20 minutes. I do a chore during that time.

If your printer sounds like a machine gun, some parts inside of it are moving when they shouldn't. Look up the fixes online and price new printers. The fixes for something like that are more expensive than a new printer.

Agreed. If it’s the drum, you’re better off recycling that and purchasing a new printer.

1) Unplug the printer power cable. Count to 10. (Be sure that all of the cartridges are properly installed, which generally has to be done with the power on regardless of whether you have a laser printer or n inkjet printer.)Plug it back in wait until the printer is done with its startup. Check the printer. If the printer is working, stop.

2) If #1 doesn't fix the problem, unplug the router power cable. Count to 10. Plug it back in. The router will take time to run through its startup. Do not panic. It might take 10 minutes or more depending upon the router and your cable company. Leave your TV on, and eventually, you will see if working again. Check the printer. If the printer is working, stop.

3) If the printer is still not working, run printer diagnostics per the manufacturer. The comments about the "drum" only apply if you have a laser printer, rather than an inkjet printer. If you tell us the printer manufacturer and model, someone may have specific advice. If after running the diagnostics, the printer is working, stop.

4) If the printer is still not working, give us more information.
