The worst TV character of all time

I want to start a new thread about the worst TV character of all time. I thought it would be fun to share. There are just so many characters that we love on TV but there are a few that we despise. I have never started a thread before but I hope we'll have fun here. I will start with mine. I am almost finished with Desperate Housewives. And, I must say I have never hated, I mean really HATED a character as much as Susan Mayer.

I don't know if the producers wanted to portray her as an adorable klutz but man was she obnoxious, self absorbed and a busybody. At least, Edie and Gabrielle didn't pretend they were saints and were aware of their flaws. Susan plays this "Damsel in Distress" every time she sees a man. She couldn't even wait for Mike to be out of a coma and goes away for a weekend with Ian. She keeps on going back to her sleazy ex and acts all cute and adorable. She is insufferable not to mention the horrible mother she is to Julie.

I never watched that show. We have an interloper like that in rl, though. I reported them. Law enforcement now needs to determine whether they are scamming or something else.

I hated the Stepford Wives (old movie, 70s-ish or so). Sorry. You said 'tv'.

@Shop-et-al what is rl? Sorry, don't understand what you mean by that. But, I think I do remember the Stepford Wives 2014 movie. Was it a remake of the earlier one?
Right now I am watching all the seasons of Heartland.
Chris Potter's character, Tim is just horrid. He is either being a big baby or throwing a wrench into everyone's endeavours. It is irritating to watch every one of his scenes. Obviously they created the character that way.

rl = real life

The Stepford Wives in 2014 was a remake of a much older movie. I think another has come out since.

It was based on an Ira Levin book.
Wikipedia Synopsis: The Stepford Wives is a 1972 satirical thriller novel by Ira Levin. The story concerns Joanna Eberhart, a photographer and young mother who suspects the frighteningly submissive housewives in her new idyllic Connecticut neighborhood may be robots created by their husbands.

(And yet, Heather Jelly in Seachange somehow manages not to be a Stepford Wife. But that is for a thread about likeable characters.)

Oh, oh, I got one! That woman that's now a judge on America's got Talent. The one with the tight dresses, accent and wiggly everything. I don't mind a strumpet but this one is just so annoyingly over the top. First noticed her on commercials, quite nauseating.
If we can include TV judges, then it's Katy Perry on "America Idol."

I have to disagree with Sandy Shopper about Ben Linus. There were no bad characters on "Lost."
Ben Linus was the very first character I thought of for this thread. I'm binge watching Lost on my Fire TV.

I would say every single character on every reality show, but I don't watch them.

I liked watching Girls but could not stand Lena Durhan (sp?). Not sure why but she just bugged me so much.
IS it 'cos he's punny? grinning smiley

"Hello, I'm Mister Ed"
A horse is a horse of course of course
And no one can talk to a horse of course.
That is of course unless the horse
Is the famous Mister Ed!

Go right to the source and ask the horse.
He'll give you the answer that you'll endorse
He's always on a steady course.
Talk to Mister Ed!

People yakkity-yak a streak
And waste your time of day,
but Mister Ed will never speak
Unless he has something to say!

A horse is a horse of course of course
And this one'll talk 'til his voice is hoarse.
You've never heard of a talking horse?
Well, listen to this...
"I am Mister Ed!"

Perhaps it is because the spell his name with horse shoes and stirrups...

I rarely watch fictional TV. More of a news and finance person.

I love the show Shark Tank, which is reality-based, and there is a guy named Kevin O'Leary that I can't stand. He's rude, often heartless, and greedy. smiling smiley
Kevin O'Leary used to be on Dragon's Den
(same kind of show). Only about the money.
Writers/producers for Lost. Started out really well, then steadily deteriorated until it was ridiculous.
I agree about Ben on Lost. I'm bingeing Lost right now, and I just hate Ben so much!
@prince, as much as Marie was annoying I really loved hersmiling smiley She made life hell for everyone!
I am enjoying it all these years, later. I had so many questions when it ended. Now I see that they were all actually answered during the series. Bingeing made it a whole new experience. Yes, it gets crazy, but the chaos is actually organized and leading to something. I love it!
I lost interest in Lost. The ending was totally unexpected. But, yes Ben was a bad apple. Another bad drama with bad characters was The Vampire Diaries. I never liked Elena. She kept falling in and out of love endless times with the two brothers. I was done with it in the 4th season. Never saw the end.
The GEICO lizard is dead meat if he ever crosses the road in front of me. I'll swerve, chase him down, whatever I have to do.
