I had a Hamilton Beach coffee percolator and decided to give it the proper burial. I like my coffee when it's in a percolator the best. What kind of coffee maker do you use? And what brand name?

Mr. Coffee: it is basic, turns itself off after so many minutes, and still comes in white (which blends in with my now passe kitchen and its other white appliances. I have had fancy schmancy coffee makers. I do not need them...

I have a 12 cup Mr Coffee-type Black & Decker that I bought on a shop. It cost $2 over reimbursement.
I'm using a Hamilton Beach drip coffee maker but I like the percolator better so I might go with Hamilton Beach. My grandmother used that brand. I wanted to have 2 coffee makers in case I forget to clean one. From what I've seen most people have Mr coffee drip coffee makers or the kcup which I won't buy for various reasons.

btw, on my latest trip to a large Goodwill store I noticed that they had a huge supply of all sorts of coffee makers at serious bargain prices. All about 80% less than retail for new.

My Mom got me a Keurig as a gift about 10 years ago. I am hooked! The coffee types are endless, and the brews are one cup at a time...very fresh!

I thought having a drip coffee maker or perculator would save $. I think ground coffee is cheaper than the k cups and there is less waste. I will check it out. I do like the Keurig (k cup style) cup of coffee a LOT.
I have looked for an American made coffee maker but no go as of yet. Trying to find anything made in America has been interesting.
That Goodwill store that I mentioned also has Kuerig coffee makers in stock with huge savings.

I love my Keurig. I got it for my 25th work anniversary. I prefer making lattes as opposed to straight coffee. I like doing half a scoop of salted caramel protein powder mixed in milk (heated) with Starbucks caramel coffee.

Call me a coffee snob, but I managed to snag a nearly 10 year old super automatic espresso machine used on Facebook Marketplace for $150: a Saeco Vienna Deluxe. An absolute steal for it being in a good working condition. It was disgusting though fully disassembling it and doing a deep clean with all the coffee slime that’s probably years old.
I’m about 100 espresso shots in since I bought it and am absolutely loving it. Just a couple double espresso shots with 2% milk for iced lattes is basically my main drink these days.

In my case, I sometime do: a double espresso shot, a single serving of Bailey’s and a shot of bourbon (Breckenridge, Stranahan’s or Bulliet). A little water added to taste.

I got a Presto 6 cup perculator.
I really like having 2 coffee pots. If I don't clean one, I can use the other one. I much prefer the perculator. The coffee is much hotter and has much better flavor!!

3--4 cup Cusinart used daily and 2 offbrand in basement storage
2--10 cup Norelco & off brand used for parties to offer both regular and decaf
1--36 cup Westbend for BIG parties

Mr. Coffee. Sooooo bad. My family didn't drink coffee except when Mom and Dad had a crowd over. I remember people wanting coffee and would leave it after taking a sip, LOL. My parents continue to be non coffee drinkers.
? How is this Mr. Coffee's fault? Are you suggesting that the choice of beans, water, ground coffee, and filters have nothing to do with the finished products?

I have a little thing on my window next to my Mr. Coffee. It says Don't come between me and my caffeine. and it has the chemical structure of caffeine. The window cling looks like a coffee mug.
I was in the hospital with no caffeine for a week. They were glad to get rid of me.....

An update on the Presto perculator. It has rust and I tried to remove the rust but I will have to use sos steel wool on it.... >> then order a Hamilton Beach glass top perculator. I had my Hamilton Beach for 3 years with no rust!!!!!!!!!

Slowly, I am weaning from my Mr. Coffee. We used to use it several times per day. Now, we skip a few days here and there. Eventually, I want to get rid of the coffee maker and the coffee habit altogether.

Oh no. lol> I started using 1/2 organic decaf and 1/2 organic caffeinated. It is much easier on the body. Will you drink tea?
I called Presto about the rust and it isn't rust. It is coffee deposits. She suggested I use powder dish soap and run it through the machine. I took a picture to send to them to make sure. I am happy.
Vinegar and a touch of baking soda. then several pots of plain tap water once a month in the machine.
I read white vinegar but I don't have any. I'll try baking soda. Thanks
