They have the best chicken and fish sandwiches (now), imho.

Yet, their physical stores are so run down looking. Why not take some of your new profits and remodel all of your stores?

So, I spoke too soon! Looks like they ARE remodeling ...slowly.

Our's is dumpy still. It looks like it was in a fire, LOL. Hurry up, Popeye's!

The new designs look decent (better than old). I see Burger King changed their logo too (they are owned by same parent company). . .

Why are so many fast food places so dumpy? Burger King...KFC...Sonic...Pizza Hut....

Chick-Fil-A stores are quite nice, considering they are ff. Is it THAT HARD to hire a nice architect/interior designer and put some money into these stores?

In other news, is McD's latest entry into the crispy chicken sandwich wars any good?

Reviews I've seen are so so. One person said it was just a "large McChicken."

Pizza Hut's Detroit style pizza looks so good. I want to try it!

Eh, McDonald’s released a “southern style chicken sandwich” years ago. This doesn’t look any different, but I’d have to try it one of these days.

The consistent criticism I see is that it needs more tartar sauce. But, otherwise, everyone seems to really like it.

I saw the fish sandwich recently on a buy and try with that app shopping company. I was in the field and had no time to stop for it.

Feels like McD's shall be a loser in these wars. Their crispy chicken sandwich and fish fillet (I actually eat this from time to time and like it) seem vastly inferior to Popeye's versions.

What is the best Sonic drink?

I think Popeye's was smart to use a brioche bun. There is a TINY sweetness to it (to all brioche usually) that balances out the saltiness of their chicken (and heat if you get spicy).

Chick-Fil-A has a sweetness (just a hint that everyone notices) to their chicken (I think it's honey) that cuts the grease and salty flavor.

That might be part of the genius of their sandwiches.

McD's (never had it yet), on the other hand, may not have that off-setting sweetness flavor...or do they? I know they use a potato bun for the new crispy chicken sandwich, so wouldn't think it was in there. I haven't seen any reviews mention a hint of sweetness in their chicken itself.

Someone recommended a blue colored drink once. It looked good, but when I drank it it really wasn't my thing.

I just order Dr. Pepper if I shop them. If there is another specific Sonic drink you like, feel free to name it.

Has anyone tried the Ruffles double crunch chips?

I already love Ruffles (I despise Lays for their thin chips...I hate thin chips and crumble easily), because they are thick and wavy (and have a stronger potato taste), but these are supposedly doubly thick.

Shake Shack also uses potato buns for their chicken (and other) sandwiches. Soft and sweet, like brioche.

Interesting. The McD's buns "look" salty, but, of course, looks can be deceiving.

Have never had a sweet-ish potato bun, so that's interesting too. Have yet to eat Shake Shack. Don't know if I can afford them?...are they shopped?

I had liked Wise potato chips until they started tasting weird. I tried Cape Cod's low fat Kettle Chips and they are way too hard. I have been chip-less for over a year, lol.

Yeah, Wise almost tastes..."sweet"..? Never ate them a whole ton growing up, so don't know if they've always been this way. In recent memory, I've really disliked them. I agree they have a weird flavor.

I like Kettle cooked chips personally. I don't know if that's a brand name or style, but the crunchiness is great. I guess I like those hard/crunchy chips (along with a "thicker" style usually).

Never mind wrong place. It's almost 6 AM in the morning and I have been up all night. Had to move all of my work today to Monday.

I never saw a salty-looking McD;s bun. I have seen sesame seeds on their buns. Now, when you compare bagels, it is easy to see which ones are salt, garlic, etc. But we are not talking about bagels.

I feel like these are all pointless. Popeye's version is both incredibly tasty (to perfection, imho) AND very affordable ($3.99). How can ya beat that?
