What unexpected things (good or bad) have you found in hotel rooms?

Several years ago, I found a slice of half-eaten pizza under the bed when I was doing a once-over before checking out.

Ummm, adult toys, desecrated Bibles, a whole suitcase full of clothes, and one time an envelope tucked to the side of an easy chair with $300 in it.

Candy bar wrapper in the bathrobe pocket. Drawer full of old underwear. Towel on top of the armoire. Jelly bean under the coffee table.

Used feminine hygiene products in a drawer at a very expensive Disney property.

These are too funny! I was a Regional Manager of hotels and ran hotels for 20+ years. I could go on for days of what I've found when inspecting rooms (before you guys did). It's actually sad you guys had to find this stuff...sad but, funny.

Shopping Arkansas, Louisiana, & Mississippi.

I entered a room that had a covid seal on the door, at a very expensive resort, and found the toilet seat up and filled with number 1. I could not even change the room asa normal guest would had done.

A 'princess and the pea' bed. I don't know what they did to this thing, but it was so uncomfortable I could have cried. My back hurt and needed to stretch out on a comfy bed. With a better back, I would have morphed Miss Marple and dismantled it; surely I would have found that guilty pea (or whatever instrument of torture was there). With my back, I tossed and turned until it was time to leave and never return.

I waved the "key" at the lock on the door to "my" room at a JW Marriott. The lock clicked, and I opened the door. I "found" a nude couple on the bed with the woman astride the man. The angle left nothing to the imagination. In the second that it took my brain to register what I was seeing (I had arrived late at night after a long flight), the woman turned and looked at me. She said nothing, and did not stop her motion. I said nothing as I backed out of the door and closed it. My next stop was the front desk. I of course got a different room, a lot of apologies, and extra points. The next morning, I saw the couple at breakfast. The woman saw me, made eye contact, and smiled.

A blood soaked mattress and something just as nasty, but brown, on the walls.

I had something similar happen at a Hilton property. Thankfully they weren't in the act but the guest was in the shower and didn't have the bathroom door closed. Thankfully I never saw him again!
