Mystery Shoppers Prayer List

I served as a pastor/evangelist for many years. I do shopping now to supplement my income. If you would like to be included in my prayer list, PM me and I will add you on. If you need specific prayers let me know them too.

Whoo hooooooooooo. St. Shopper!

You can sure put my family on your list and I will do the same for you!

My son-in-law and I both shop in addition to his real job and have recently added couponing in order to make ends meet and also to be good stewards of time and available resources.

I have seen the faithfulness of God to meet our needs. As gas prices go up and discouragement looms, routes open up that are nothing short of miracles. A check comes in, bonuses are offered and shops I've never seen before or expected are suddenly available. When i check the boards, things are just "there"!

Sooooooo, prayer changes things for believers! God promises to meet our needs if we seek His kingdom first. I started tithing on mystery shopping income when the money started rolling in. As poor as we are, it doesn't make sense to the world but in God's economy, it works out just fine! We even set aside another 10% for a ministry we support. Money trickles in and another $1.50 goes in the jar. lol Or Bare pays for shipping and another $20 goes in the jar. Operation Christmas Child stuff is piling up in our storage locker. In my shopping travels I finds stuff for 80-90% off and there is always something in the jar to pick up a pair of jeans for a shoebox kid for $2.00 because of this practice. I can never again say that I can't afford to give. I CAN'T AFFORD NOT TO GIVE because it always comes back.

I was supposed to die last fall according to the doctors. But God had other plans. Now I do some shopping nearly every day and Ron always has work. Tomorrow we'll travel up into southern Indiana for four or five shipping shops and anything else we find (and I have faith that I'll find plenty even at the end of the month!) That's a $4-$5 tithe, another $4-$5 to the shoebox kids and God gives us another $32-$40 to pay for gas and food and medicine. And we know that it works.

Ron kept getting "suspended" from his cushy union job that gives his family insurance and a steady income. We got further and further behind and God "sent" me information about mystery shopping. Last month there was an eviction notice on the door. Now the rent is paid and Ron hasn't been laid off for the past month. In fact, his next check will have 27 hours of overtimeo on it and we'll be completely caught up with some to put in the bank for an emergency fund. His job want's to get rid of the long time employees that get paid $17 an hour plus benefits and hire young employees with no seniority at $10 an hour. He's learned to fly below the radar and hopefully not draw attention to himself. Other guys on the job complain about the overtime....we rejoice in working 7 days a week. He had his first day off in weeks on Easter and slept 12 hours and had time to play with kids. Now he's ready to head back to work this afternoon, come home to sleep and head for shipping shops (plus) in the morning.

Shipping and gas stations are perfect for him and for me. For him because we package up stuff to ship and just keep it in the car. My 9 year old grandson knows now how to use Google to find a "return address" in the zip code we are shipping from. He prints off lables and puts the labels with the stuff getting shipped. Scenario A stuff goes into a manilla envelope with stuff sealed in and labels attached. Scenario B stuff goes in a Walmart canvas bag with the labels inside. We ship canned goods to senior citizen friends out of town when the shop is in our own zone. We ship stuff back to ourselves if the shop is in a different zone. My seven year old Granddaughter can figure out how many cans equals 1-2 pounds and put them in the bag. Perfect system and the kids earn a little (from which they also tithe, give and save). The kids get paid in coins and can figure out what 10% is. Duncan keeps his 70% for stuff for himself and is always broke. Little soft-hearted Lilly always puts extra in her giving and in savings and she ALWAYS has money. LOLOLOL God's economy! The shops doing shipping and gas are perfect for me because I never have to be on my feet oer about 15 minutes at a time. God has provided things we can do quickly and it's nothing short of miraculous how many come our way at $10 each. Soesn't sound like much? We will get over $400 in May just for shipping shops. We did about $600 in gas stations in April. And we did all of that while traveling to anchor shops all over Kentucky and southern Indiana at 29 miles per gallon. We can estimate that we'll spend about 15% on gas. That's alot at first glance, but in God's economy, it's all His anyway. We "net about 55% (10% tithe, 10% giving, 10% savings 15% gasoline) that makes a big difference in how we live. We have medicine, food, and the roof is still over our heads. The kids are learning stewardship and very importantly we give God praise in front of them when a string of shops materializes out of nowhere. The love feeding the jar for the Christmas shoeboxes.

Lowe's shops provide plastic shoeboxes for our project. We only do the ones with big bonuses. We get 5 plastic shoeboxes for $4.97 plus tax. We get reimbursed a little and cover the rest from bonus.

KMart shops find tons of clearance items to add to the storage bin.

Kroger's shops feed us and provide cans of food for shipping to senior citizens.

Michaels shops got me 90% off on all their stocking stuffer type stuff last year after Christmas. I did all the Michaels I could find and bought tons of marbles, puzzles, arts and crafts kits, etc for 10 cents each. I wouldn't have seen those things if I hadn't gone there for a shop.

Pizza shops only pay a small fee. Papa Johns won't deliver in our crime ridden neighborhood. But there is a 99 year old lady at our church that lovessssss pizza. She doesn't even know my name. She calls me the pizza lady. I do carry outs or I go to her house and order pizza, take my pictures and leave the pizza for her. It only costs me a little time since she lives right next to the church and it blesses her. She'd never get pizza on her low income. She blesses us with stories from her youth. Dementia leaves her wandering in those years.

I'll go to Walmart for a cell phone shop and see a rack of Garanimals for 50 cents or girl's jeans for $2.00. I'll spend a little and put another smile in a box. In God's economy, I can't afford not to give. Isn't that what it's all about? I haven't fed 5000 or walked on water, but the One Who did sure shows us his blessings and gives us what we need to be able to show love to others in a material way. Last year the kids and I put together three shoeboxes at full price before Christmas. This year, my goal is 300. My church of 700 only did 407 last year. I'm not telling them what I'm doing and the kids are sworn to secrecy. The boxes will just show up during the collection times. When the people wonder where they all came from, I will tell them how we started tithing, giving and saving out of our need and how God blessed us this year.

I know this is more than you ever wanted in your "prayer" thread but thought you might like to hear part of our story.

Gotta get off of here and write three reports. Granddaughter home from school sick again. There's a specific need for healing. The blessing is that Grandma only has a DQ shop that will give her ice cream for her sore throat, a burger for Ron's lunch and a Diet Coke for me. Report takes about 5 minutes. lol I am taking the day off to be with Lilly and my shops lined up so I can be off today and work the next two. Praise God for His economy because ours is broken and can't be fixed in a bipartisan decision. lol

My brother texted and said my car will be ready to pick up on Thursday. Please pray this is the case. Ron needs to start the gas route out of town and I'll need my car to keep things going here in town while he's gone. We are going to take out the two up on the river that CRI threw in with the ones down south and make a day trip up the river, eat at McDonalds (blech) and try and find other shops going up that way. Not much up there though. But we will have a nice drive with the kids so am praying for the rain to stop soon.
I would love some additional prayers for my husband. Until today, he had been off of work (with no sick or vacation pay) for 3 weeks, so sick and in so much pain that there were days he literally could not get off the bed. He was tentatively diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis yesterday. He lost 30 pounds in those 3 weeks and has the energy of a snail. He commutes by express bus to the city for work, which means his 8 hr. work day consumes at least 11 hours, so it's grueling for someone so fatigued. Because he needed so much care, I wasn't able to get many work hours in with either my regular part-time job or shops. Although we had a pretty healthy diet, we are making HUGE dietary changes as part of his wellness plan, and that is a bit stressful while you re-work everything. I believe he has been dealing with this for nearly 10 years, but it was masked by issues with gout and infection, so no one put two and two together, so when he crashed, he fell hard.

I know things will get better. We have great faith, but the prayers of many can only help. Thank you!!!
Will be praying for your husband and you, Spygirl!

No car yet. Supposed to "be getting it painted" tonight. Still in a waiting mode. I need the car like forever ago, but God's given me plenty to work on.

Got packets in the mail today from 8 out of 10 banks I requested info from so I'm off to scan and resize. lol Need the car so I can run around to the banks now. Only have done 3 out of the 10 and got a whole bunch more for next week.

Spygirl, I pm'd you...I had your husbands Arthritis problem, changed my diet and am 90% pain free, did need two joint replacements in my fingers. There is hope through diet, be pro-active and the best to you.

Live consciously....
Thank you, all, for your kind words and PM's. It's so nice to know that there are people in the world who don't even know you that will go to bat for you in some way. Really, the world is full of wonderful people, but we unfortunately hear mostly about the ones that aren't behaving so wonderfully.

My husband is improving and we're hopeful that through his strict dietary changes that he'll be a whole lot healthier (even though we were pretty healthy eaters to begin with). No steak house shops for us! Thankfully I get a salad place every now and again, and that he can do!
Each of you are on my prayer list. Spygirl you and your husband will be ok. God will never leave you nor forsake you. Hang in there.
Wow I can identify with iblessyah God is great!. Just as I need finances to get to Auckland to see my son graduate in a few days companies I have not worked for contact me giving me loads of work, Im advised Ive been selected to the 2nd stage of a permanent part time job for a mystery shopping company. Then to top it off a company I regularly work for has last minute work that needed completing that afternoon, and they offerred a extra good size payment to get the job done!. Gods goodness is awesome !
Just this afternoon my daughters partner was told his grandad has been given three days to live after getting an infection that has not gone away. I ask that you join me in praying for his recovery and his salvation. Your prayers would be greatly appreciated ( :With thanks, Shell
I still don't have my car. God is good anyway. Engine work is getting done. I don't have to have car until this Friday but then I really need it. God's never late....but always on time!

CRI scheduled one of Ron's gas shops for 5/13 instead of 6/30!!!! It's 90 miles away and we have to back for hime to go to work by 2:00 pm. Gonna have to leave here and be in that area by 7:30 when it's light enough to take pictures and then do as many gas stations as we can before leaving that part of state by noon to get back home on time. Our original plan was to go down and stay a couple of days but if that one shop has to get done, it's gonna take a special trip on Friday. Wish my camera would take pictures at night. lol

Praying for CRI. If they are aware of putting these obstacles in our paths and are doing it on purpose, it will take the intervention of God to get that bonus. They have slipped in three more shops onto the list without telling me. I still have one shop that is 187 miles from home in a different direction and now this shop is scheduled for Friday instead of June 30th. Is this on purpose?

There's a song out called "Blessings" by Laura Story that is my story. The chorus says:

What if your blessings come through raindrops?
What if your healing comes through tears?
What if a thousand sleepless nights are what it takes to know You're near?
What if the trials of this life are your mercies in disquise?

Perfect description of my life philosophy....Count your blessings and recognize that God uses all sorts of circumstances to change us into who He wants us to be....even trials and chaos. So the car situation is to teach me patience and that God does and will continue to provide! Whoooo hoooooooooo.....I can even praise God for a car accident!
Please keep praying re: car issue. Supposed to be ready on Friday. Need to hit the road early next week!

New target date on car is Tuesday. It needed a new engine! Can't wait to see how God is going to pay for that!

ibless,
Fortunately, God has a sense of humor. (That's why we have mystery shopping.) Hang in there and feel the good vibrations coming your way.

Based in MD, near DC
Shopping from the Carolinas to New York
Have video cam; will travel

Poor customer service? Don't get mad; get video.
He certainly has creative ways to help us grow and exercise faith. He will come through!

I know. I really do believe in His economy.

Having a bad day today because I don't feel very good and I have to keep working anyway. Want to rest but have three more reports to do and then lots of scanning.

My physical tiredness is taking it's toll on my usual cheerful disposition. Guess that's what my specific prayer request is about.

Praising God that my car has returned and is running great.

Pray for travel safety this weekend. Heading out to do gas shops and anything else I can find on the trip. Leaving about 4 am on Friday morning and want to be home for church on Sunday if possible with at least 20-25 more gas shops done and hopefully only one motel bill.

Now we really need some serious prayer. Ron lost his cushy union job last night and it doesn't look like the union is going to be able to get it back for him. Only God's economy can help us at this point. We have to support 3 adults and 2 children and two of the adults have serious illnesses. It's going to be fun watching to see how God pays for everything. winking smiley

I'm sorry to hear that. Sometimes we can't see (yet) the good that can come out of what appears to be "bad", but I can't think of one thing in my life, that I thought to be bad at the time, that didn't turn out to be good in the end. As my husband often says, the Lord doesn't waste any experience without allowing us to learn and grow and get something valuable out of it. It's so true! But going THROUGH the experience is such a test of faith.

I'll keep your family in my prayers.

Having a very very bad summer. Everything in this house seems to be breaking all at once, no money to pay for it all, and now my cat died on Friday. Praying for strength to get thru this mess.
I'm sorry krissy, hope tomorrow brings better things, sorry about your cat....wishing you the best. Krissyg Wrote:

So sorry about your cat Krissyg. Praying for God's peace to settle on your soul! I know you will miss the cat.

I have just gotten a divorce. I moved to a new area of town. I am very lonely right now. This is a difficult time. I do have my two cats. My kids are 21.
I have the empty nest and on top of it all a new environment.
God has a way of finding helpers.

Since I was a child I found that I can have everything in life I want because I help enough other people get what they want. I do it with integrity and trust.

Sometimes you have to step out on faith and good things will come to you. People appreciate when they interact with someone they can trust to give the value the trading partner is looking for.

They tell their friends and neighbors and anyone who will listen when they are treated fairly in a friendly manner because that sort of interaction is so rare these days.

Volunteer to help people and you will appreciate the "warm fuzzy". Do things you like as it is too long a life to drag yourself through that life doing things you would rather not be doing.
