wand/scanner

I am looking for a scanner/wand for travel. Beside Best Buy and Office Max who both charge 99.00. Who knows anywhere for less.

I have been seeing ads on TV to "try it for free for 30 days" for one of the companies that has a desk top scanner and, I believe, a wand scanner. I have paid little attention because it is of little interest.
Why not just use your camera's macro mode? With good lighting from a window, receipts and other POV are a piece of cake to photograph, and you don't have to mess with an extra piece of equipment.
Some hotel and restauant receipts are too long to take a pic of with my phone. I lost my new phone, and using my old one which doesn't have that capacity...not do for an upgrade for months. Guess I'll just get one.

Are you comfortable using a program to stitch two photos together into one image? There are free programs that do this quickly and with little tweaking.

Once it's made a panoramic compilation of the receipt segments, you can crop it to fit the receipt and save the file.

Just a thought.
I have started going into the restroom at gas station/convenient stores or standing inside after presenting my Letter of Authorization and taking a picture of the receipt. That's working great. I only had 3 receipts out of 28 that I couldn't get a clear shot of this past trip. They were simply too light to get a picture of.

A wand scanner is in my future. Then hopefully I'll get that to 100% success rate and can return home with NO scanning to do. Now that I know how to change an entire folder to 640 x 480, I just stick in the receipt with the pictures and resize the whole thing. When I get to WiFi, reports take about 5 minutes each. I can do several while eating lunch and supper and get back to motel or home with little more to do.

"Finally, whatever things are good, true, noble, lovely, of good report...if there be any virtue, if there be any praise...think on these things." ....It's a command, not a suggestion!
