What are you grateful for...?

I'm grateful for reduced spending with mystery shopping. I just bagged another steak shop with small fee and no time limit between shops; must be because families are on vacation.

I'm grateful for a wonderful spouse. Still to this day, the kindest person I've ever met.

I'm grateful for being raised by a single mother of very modest income and her mother. They instilled good moral values and a frugal mindset in me. It's paid off well.

I'm grateful for our health. I know it won't last forever.

I'm grateful for the American way of life; from my ancestors who helped create it, to our collective efforts in getting it back on track.

I'm grateful for our wonderful capitalist system which enabled us to earn, save, and invest. It allowed us to retire early. I've come to realize that it's highly unlikely we'll ever spend it all.

Oh, there were some lessons learned along the way, people I've met that I could have done without, but overall, no real regrets.

How about you? What are you grateful for...?

I am 'thankful in all things'

My garden in England is full of eating-out places, for heat waves, warm September evenings, or lunch on a chilly Christmas morning. (Mary Quant)
I am thankful for Almighty God; A good woman; My kids and grandkids; My country; An honest days work; A good meal; and A good night's sleep;

I am thankful that you reminded me what I am to be thankful for! I am thankful my cancer is in remission. I am thankful I was able to work during my treatments. (Give or take some time when I was not doing well). I am thankful for the route I have because it saved me from cancer. I was forced to go out, act positive, meet people, and be physically active when all I wanted to do was lie in bed.

I am grateful most of all that my son is kind and compassionate toward people he disagrees with. He always tries to find the common ground. He makes me a better person for knowing him.

I am grateful for cool breezes on humid NYC days. I am grateful for the people I encounter on my routes. They share so much with me. I learn from them. I share their hopes and worries. I am grateful for the sunrise and the smell of cut grass. I have food to eat and a place to live. I have a dog who adores me. How amazing is the love and devotion of a dog?!

I am grateful to the people here who freely share information so we can all learn and grow together.
I'm glad things are going well for you, Madi.

I am grateful that my 2 ICE cars hasn't been spending a dime on gas ever since I start doing this career

I am grateful that I have been having extra income to cover my auto loan payment on top of other monthly expenses.

I am grateful that I have been able to get whole bunch of bottle water, chips and peanuts at deep discount, or free when I engage in gas station audit

I am grateful that I have ordered so many Chinese fast food now I have bunch of one time use chopsticks and soy sauce packet I haven't really been needing to buy soy sauce for daily needs.

Soon I will be grateful that this career has helped me significantly with my grocery bills too
I'm grateful for only having first-world-problems in my life.
I am grateful that more people don't know about mystery shopping or don't have the patience for it. My retired spouse and I eat out free almost everyday and spend less than $200 per month on fruits, sandwich materials, flavored drinks, milk, soups, snacks, etc to supplement the dining out.
ShopperGirly, may I ask if you live in a large city? I live near a medium city and would be hard pressed to find 3-5 MS meal opportunities per month.

Yes I live in a large metro of over a million people. I do lots of 5 guys,Panda, McAlister, Freddys, TXRH, Bubbas, BJs , Jersey Mikes, Carls JR. Used to do lots of Sonic and Canes. I also have a regional chain of fine dining that works through Coyle. I do 5-8 shops per month through Coyle.

I try to make the most of the fine dining by ordering food that will provide leftovers.

I also use all the rewards and loyalty programs that are allowed.

In addition, I am always working on a credit card sign up bonus.

I keep an eye on Presto but dont get a lot from there.

Just did 25 7-11s where I bought a $1.59 packaged cheese burger with each shop (similar to White Castle.) Have a bag in the freezer. I take a ziploc bag to 5 guys and bring home peanuts for evening snacks.

Always looking for new ideas.
I haven't done one yet, but I noticed Coyle just added some fine dining in my city.
Aren't those Coyle dining reports a beast to do? I recall once they were, so I was apprehensive about applying.

You are industrious with all your strategies....no one at FG ever gave you a hard time for taking a bag of peanuts?

Congrats on the low grocery bills! the only other thing to save on food, might be to use coupons...I haven't done that in awhile.

PS/I am working on a Southwest Airlines sub right now...but I need hotel points more than airline points right now.

oh wait, just thought of one more....I get those invites to attend tax or investment seminars, they are often held at fine dining restaurants....and they offer dinner at no charge. ...I've gone to a few of those, not just for dinner lol - but also because I have picked up some great financial advice - it's always good to learn more about finance and to be careful when they start selling annuities lol

Bliss- I would do those free dinners ina heartbeat, but my husband wont go.

I used to be an avid couponer- I spoke about it in another thread. I no longer do it as I shop mostly at stores like Aldi that do not accept coupons.

FYI- I see people at 5 Guys all the time asking for brown paper bags to fill with peanuts. I dont think they care unless someone is abusing it.

I am grateful for restaurants that use chair leg tips so they don't make THAT awful sound when sliding the chair in and out on a tile or wood floor. I think some people delight in making that loud noise.
I'm grateful for our rational shoppers and members who make positive contributions.
I am grateful for the opportunity to mystery shop to help me meet my financial goals earlier and also grateful that I don't have to depend on this income to pay my bills. I am grateful for the house that I live in even if some plumbing issue in the upstairs bathroom caused it to "rain" in my kitchen this weekend. I am grateful that I have money set aside to deal with this disaster.
