Be Extremely Picky!

Members, shoppers, (some of you) friends smiling smiley

I want to leave you with some words as I take a long vacation. Perhaps, you find these words wise or foolish, I do not know. My hope, wise.

As someone who has started to participate more and more in other activities on the side that also generate supplemental revenue, my takeaway for you is to be selective! Be in a position where you can be picky!

Choose wisely how you spend your time and who you spend it with. Life is too short. Hopefully, there will be a point where you will be set financially and don't have to constantly discuss or think about money. You have a finite amount of time.

For the financial services that I provide, I am not dependent upon it. I choose and retain clients that I enjoy working with and want to assist. If it's ever burdensome or outside my scope of knowledge, I can happily refer them to others, as their situation has become more complex, hopefully as a result of success.

For content creation, I choose the subject matter and collaborators that I am interested in and can wholeheartedly endorse. I fight the temptation to base the future direction solely on metrics of clicks, views, and trends. I read the comments, further analyze the level of engagement on a deeper level, and stay true to myself and my audience. I give the people what they want!

I'm rambling now. My point is, strive to be in that position to be picky in life!

Edited to add: I do realize that some are in an unfortunate position, which I am sensitive to.

Please don't feed the MSF trolls!

Feeding the MSF trolls bread or other human food is detrimental to their health and the environment. It can lead to malnutrition, disease, and behavioral problems in trolls, as well as water pollution and the spread of pests. Trolls are capable of finding their own food sources and don't require human assistance.

There is always a balance between cash flow, ease of assignments and proximity or convenience of assignments.

To preserve oneself however, it is important to recognize when self-care is priceless, when you need to say no, even at the risk of some hardship or stress.
Picky? You bet I am. I'm as picky with selecting mystery shops like I did with selecting a spouse...

They have to be enjoyable, loyal company, profitable, dependable, etc. and close to me.

I would never select high maintenance, long distance, or unprofitable types where I am not in charge of my destiny.

These are obvious decisions, right?
Interesting thread... y'all seem to have provided a recipe for well-seasoned Picky Practical Practices. Sounds good! You might not have intended this, but I appreciate it.
