Editors, ethics, and ethos….

Here’s one to ponder:
Have any of you had an editor flag an accurate truthful report done to spec containing unprofessional conduct asking you to completely rewrite it with false positive results?

I have not, but I tend to stick to EXACTLY what is being asked for on the report.
Barring extreme situations, I probably would not report what I consider to be unprofessional conduct unless specifically asked for, like in a bar integrity shop.
Hm, I am wondering what the unprofessional conduct was. I've mentioned employees using vulgar language in front of customers. It was relevant as this was a dining shop at a family restaurant, not a bar. There are times to refrain from mentioning something and other times that you would be doing the client a disservice by not speaking up. But no, I haven't ever been asked to fundamentally change my responses to questions.
I have experienced this in the past. I submitted it again just as it was to begin with. I didn't change anything. It was accepted.

Shopping Arkansas, Louisiana, & Mississippi.
Has this happened to you?

Never had it happen. But unless they specifically ask for something on the report, I'm not going to tell them in the first place.
