Shake Shack?

I've never eaten at one of their locations, but they just opened a new location about a mile down the road
from our local 5 Guys.
I'm now getting ads - their biggest burger for $`10, their fries are $3, fountain sodas are $1 and shakes are $5.
I know they/re popular so presumably their quality is at least equal to 5 Guys?
If so, how can 5 Guys compete with those prices?
Shake Shack, throwing down the gauntlet lol.

A Shake Shack just opened in my town too. We already have several 5 guys.
I personally would rather eat at 5G because of the all-you-can-eat peanuts and huge fries portions.
I have only eaten at Shake Shack once. We were on a trip and happened upon one. I was not impressed at all. I was so disappointed since I had in my head that it would be like In and Out. I agree that 5G is better.
oh I am a fan of In and Out. The only fast food I am willing to pay for LOL.

I haven't eaten at a Shake Shack, but if they have those prices, I would at least try them. Most of our Five Guys have shut down.

Shopping Arkansas, Louisiana, & Mississippi.
We got a few Shake Shacks several years ago. I ate there twice. It was quite adequate. Nothing special. I think Five Guys is better quality although quite a bit more expensive.

I didn't see what all the fuss was about and why NY went crazy over SS.. They don't have good hamburgers in NYC? One of the 4 SS locations here closed last year. None of the dozen or so 5 Guys have closed.
Shake shack has breakfast...at least at one airport location.
The Five Guys locations that I have seen in airports also serve breakfast.

The SS stores near me open at 10:30 AM, a half hour earlier than Five Guys. Both serve their regular menus from opening to closing (variable between 9:30 and 10:30 PM for the two SS locations near me; now 11 PM for all 6 5G locations near me.)

I think that the Shake Shack double cheeseburger is as good as some of the sit down burger chains. It's about $10.50-11.00 after tax, so it's something I only get 2-3 times a year. I am not a fan of their fries, but I do like their shakes if they have a promo going.

I don't go to Five Guys because I have a peanut allergy that has gotten worse as I have gotten older. Living in the South now, I have to ask everywhere what kind of oil restaurants use for frying.
I prefer Shake Shack even though the options are not as diverse.

The quality of the beef is the key: they use a custom blend by one of the most respected butchers in the biz.

I'm all over them when they offer special pricing, and when they do special burgers/promotions. The French Onion burger that was part of their promoting their onion rings was outstanding.

Have synthesizers, will travel...
The prices you mentioned are promotional prices -- you might have to order in the app to get them. As @CoolMusic mentioned they often have promos. There's an easy to find code that often yields a free shake with a $10 purchase if you order between 2 and 5 pm.
@BFB, those are unbelievable prices. My ladies love their chicken sandwiches and 'Shroom burgers. So do I. Shakes here are $10. Burgers well over $10. Go try them out at those prices. Warning, the shakes are very fattening but sooooo good, LOL.
Once upon a time I went to a Shake Shack in Chicago.. but I really don't remember much about the trip to Chicago except that I went to the museum and saw dinosaurs, yes I was an adult, but it was also a very stressful trip and the friend I went to meet wasn't interested in going anywhere with me. So I went to the interesting places alone and ate a bunch of fast food, and met some really cool poodles.
