Desert Southwest

Next week, will be flying into LV, then renting a car. We'll be roadtripping through Death Valley, Zion NP, then heading south to do sections of Route 66 (Kingman, Seligman, Oatman, etc) then heading down to Yuma
and making our way back.
Need sunshine, warmth and change of scenery.
Not overly concerned with penny pinching, thankfully, but I am who I am, so I will be checking
the Upside app for gas deals, checking Presto for any quick MSing in AZ, CA and Utah. I realize some of these areas are quite out of the way lol.
Only food apps I use are Dunkin for coffee and McDonalds for breakfast sandwiches.
I am not familiar with western chains, except I-n-O, so if you have suggestions, please let me know? or maybe Del Taco? lol. Any apps you use while on travel.
Same country, but sometimes feels like another world lol

If you are in Flagstaff for a meal you want to go to Salsa Brava.

I will be in Flagstaff next month! I will keep this in mind too!

Enjoy!

Been eating there every time in town since the late '80s.

Their extensive salsa bar went away with COVID, but everything else is same as it ever was.

We were there this past November for the GF's first time and she was duly impressed.

Wave to my beloved desert and other surviving beautiful places! Tell them I miss them...

The desert is so awesome...in many ways.
Last night, we spent the night in a small town, it reminded me of an old movie.
It was the kind of town where they roll the sidewalks up at nightfall and immediately turn the neon on.
Lonely and quiet except for the trains passing by every half hour or so.
The kind of motel where you drive up to the door of your room. The motel desk clerk tried to convince me that current climate change is the result of a new planetary alignment.
Yes, the fans of Art Bell are still stumbling around lol.
