Favorite things (lately)

‘Song Sung Blue’ movie. I was hesitant at first b/c I was afraid Kate Hudson would act to cutesy. She nailed it. Hugh is an absolute god in it and it’s probably Jim Belushi’s best acting performance. Hoping she will win the Oscar but I doubt it. Hamnet sucked. Bonus - my cats love the music in it. Watching it at home is better than in the theater. You catch a lot of the nuance's and there are many.

Panera Bread Rewards. No need to pull up the app when ordering. They use your email to tell you what your current discount is. Cheaper and healthier than fast food.

March Madness. Much more exciting than Pro basketball. I don’t support the pros b/c they make much more $ than they deserve. Any of the top 20 men’s teams can take the nattie, so anything goes!

Spring! I always know when it is really springtime. Burl Ives sings "There is Sunshine in My Soul Today," and I will listen to that after I post this.
Yes, springtime! My favorite season. So much so, that I would be easily lured into a Burl Ives sing-a-long!
Springtime means tornados, and wildly changing weather. So far this week we've had temps over 80, and freezing nights. Tonight they are predicting severe winds, possible tornados, and a slight chance of hail. The next 3 days we're supposed to be in the 20's with highs in the 40's.

It's still better than summer, but I'm not a big fan of tornados and stuffing dogs in my car to bug out.
Tornado threats would be too much for me. Just the threat alone…nope nope, nope.
A friend recently mentioned a ‘bug bag’ she had, which I had never heard of. After she explained it was for extra meds, IDs etc. it got me thinking that I should have one. I ended up getting a NOKBOX (next of kin) which is a plastic filing bin with tabs that break down all of the categories of important personal documents that you need to save and protect. It makes it so easy if one should pass for their heirs to piece together their estate. There’s sections for spare keys, meds, titles and a ton of things you don’t think of. It has a fire retardant soft cover but it can’t survive a total melt down fire. It’s good (and not too big) to grab and throw in your car in case of emergency. Even the small safes can be too heavy. I still keep mine locked up though.
I live in tornado alley. I have seen the after affect of devastating tornadoes. People in my area know to keep important paperwork close by. When I worked for a tech company, we once set up a mobile computer lab for local residents. When you lose your ID, utility bills verifying your address, etc it is challenging to get help from Red Cross or other agencies. Most people have no clue where to find their homeowners' policies. Everything can be stored in the cloud. It can be as simple as copying documents and storing in a file (album) in Google photos. I can access both mine and hubby's Drivers License, insurance cards, etc from my phone in a few seconds. You can also use things such as Dropbox which require a subscription.

This is an ongoing project for me as I constantly think of new things and new ways to keep my data handy. Another favorite I use a lot is One Note. It is accessible from anywhere. Once you enter anything into One Note it is automatically saved.

i think I actutally impressed a new cardiologist recently when I quickly. pulled up lab reports that he did not have.

I have an extensive spreadsheet that I use for my Mystery Shop records. I make sure to back it up into the cloud frequently.
