Self-driving vehicles...

Good? Bad? Other?

My main concerns: Despite best efforts, will there be times and situations that are unforeseeable, unexpected, or otherwise beyond AI's ability to make a quick and appropriate "decision"? What could diminish AI per se?

I kinda feel like more time will sort out good, bad or other?...as we get more real life experience with them. For now I also feel there are situations that may be beyond prediction.?

Lately, I've walked across intersections here and noticed a Zoox or Waymo waiting for us people to pass, and I wave and thank them for their patience lol.

Life was passing like a hand waving from a train I wanted to be on
Twice, Hubby has nearly been hit by a driver ignoring a stop sign. I feel a self driving car would have done better in those 2 situations.

I would love a Tesla; the car, not the truck. I would take my chances if I had one.

Shopping Arkansas, Louisiana, & Mississippi.
My friend likes her Tesla (not self driving). She is more limited for charging stations than my friend with a different brand of electric car.

When self driving trucks are fully developed, there may be an opportunity for the commercial movement of goods occurring between 8pm and 5am, to reduce traffic during peak times.
