Series

Do you have a series you've really enjoyed?

I have enjoyed the biggies: Mad Men, Sopranos, Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, etc.

but now enjoying one not as wildly known: Bloodline - a story set in the Florida Keys....

Sissy Spacek has been acting for a LONG time - Sam Shepherd too.

I like all of the NCIS versions, and JAG that started it all. I think my favorite all time cop show is NYPD Blue. Where I learned to really dislike David Caruso.

I didn't watch The West Wing when it was on TV.. but I've been watching lately, and I really like it. And I've always been a sucker for Martin Sheen. I've never been a fan of Allison Janney, but I like her in this show.

I'm going to try again, but tonight I tried to restart Risoli and Isles but didn't make it through the first show.. might be a job for a different day. I really like the series when it aired originally, at least until that nice young man committed suicide during one summer haitus (can't remember his name).
I'm enjoying Doc, Matlock and The Chicken Sisters.
I really enjoyed Young Sheldon. More than Big Bang.

We watch detective shoes. Midsummer Murders, Shetland. Vera. An old one called Heartbeat. Not so much a detective show that one. More a local constable in the 60s. Speaking of 60s, I really like Call The Midwife.

Well. I watch a lot of TV. Murdoch Mysteries, Hudson and Rex ( I don't rewatch that one), Heartland.

lol prince, I've tried to watch Hudson and Rex a few times, the acting is so bad, and the dog tricks are so stupid. I usually like shows with dogs in them, but the acting is even worse than 18 wheels of justice.. lol

When I'm scrolling through tv shows to fall asleep by I turn on The Listener, and on the nights they're on, Sue Thomas F.B. Eye. They're showing Fall Guy and Nash Bridges in the wee hours on H and I. They also show Highlander on Sunday nights, and The Unit on Saturday nights.

Could you meet any of those challenges? (I just enjoy that someone dreamt up the challenges and some bakers get some of it right!)
Love Detective, Spy, and “reformed criminal” shows like Elementary (amazing writing), Astrid (French version), Leverage, White collar, Blacklist, Person of Interest, Mentalist, Castle, Burn Notice, Criminal Minds, Bones, anything Bond-ish, and still enjoy re-watching Cheers, Frazier, Schitts Creek, and anything Python-related.
I like the medical shows and the crime shows that get into a lot of details. One of my favorites is Dexter.
Have any of you seen The Pitt?
I've never gotten into any medical shows but that one is getting rave reviews from many people
I just finished Bloodline....was pretty good until last few episodes - it fell flat ugh.
I tried Killing Grounds the documentary series, found it boring.

Bare,

I only wish for such things.. I love Noah Wylie, I've watched every episode of every show he's been in. I can't get cable or any kind of broadband internet here. So HBO is kinda out of reach. Not that I would pay for it anyway..
I think the show is available on one of the streaming services via internet?
I am curious to know how you complete shop reports at home - what kind of internet service you have?

Started a brand new one last night - looks intriguing - Paradise.

Many series are available on DVD to borrow at our library

The Pitt is awesome, very realistic. Currently watching The Testaments. Schitts Creek was awesome. I did watch White Lotus. Even though it was good, it moved way too slow for me.

I have watched too many shows to list but love looking for something new I have missed.
Years ago, PBS had the series "Call The Midwife". My sister sent me the 5 DVD set of the series back in 2014, when I was recovering from my mastectomy. Being an RN by training, I really enjoyed the reality of the delivery scenes, along with the various plot lines.
Call the Midwife just aired it's last season - 16th, bitter sweet ending. They are planning a prequel and a movie.
Just saw an ad for something set on Capri. Will look for it...

I would love to travel to Capri some day

Cover Affairs (old one)
Prime Suspect (real old one)

I'm still looking, in fact your post made me redouble my effort to find it. HBOmax has a mobile app, I'm going to try to use it. But usually these type of apps make me give information about a cable company to use them. I guess we'll see.

At home I use my cell phone signal as a hotspot for the desktop computer. It would work as wifi for a smart tv, but I don't have one of those either. When we first moved here we had DSL through the local phone company, but it was very expensive for service that was very unreliable. And then they @#$%& with the billing and I had to cancel the service.

UPdate: I was right, unless it comes on Tubi or one of the other free services I'm out of luck.

I'm about 5 shows in.. I set it aside because I need to pay better attention. I'm going to start over after I finish one two of the other shows I'm currently watching. I think I'm getting very close to the end of The West Wing. And I seriously hope I'm close to the end of Doc (I don't like the actress, and the writing is awful).
The series set in Capri is called ‘A Taste for Murder’ on one of the Brit networks. Bummer that it’s filmed in a few locations including Croatia. It sounds mildly interesting. I cancelled my cable close to a month ago so I won’t be watching it.

I'm afraid to tell you because people will 100% judge me. Let's just say we're currently watching the new season of Citadel.
Well, I watch Coronation Street so I don't judge anyone's viewing choices.

The 2026 show is on the expensive Britbox and is too new for older Britbox stuff on Tubi.

Old-time gamers might remember 2 PC games, each about a weekend in Capri... graphics are based on actual photographs and are like a slide show.. and the gamer really sees Capri... the same but updated technique is used for the Carol Reed games... sorry for the trip down memory lane...
ah ok, I hadn't thought of hotspotting. Probably because every time I've tried it - usually while on travel,
my cell service provider starts barking messages that I need to order more soon too soon....and that is overkill, so they annoy with that money grab.

Deedeez - no judgement (from me anyway) it's all about personal preference.

I get ideas from people as what might be a good next watch.

Watched a bit more Paradise last night....starting to get a bit toooo sci-fi for me...but I will give it a bit more time before abandoning.

WOW!! 16 seasons!!!! I thought the 5 year DVD set my sister sent me was it! I never pursued it afterwards, because I got back busy with life after recovering from my mastectomy. But what I saw of the 5 years of the series, I thoroughly enjoyed!
I tried a new one to me last night - Shrinking on Apple TV. It was horrible.

I'm enjoying Sullivan's Crossing. I'm on season 1. Season 4 is airing now.
