It's been a day..

No response from the guy I was supposed to buy a trailer from today.. just as well. I really needed the extra sleep this morning. There will be other trailers.

Got to the grocery stores late, almost too late for the last grocery shop.

I Left the last store considerably later than I should have and I was rushing with a slim chance of getting both of my gas station audits done. There was some road construction in progress, I apparently caught something in a tire. Or the TPMS suddenly randomly broke and quit working.

I had to stop, there was still enough air in the tire to get to a gas station. So I went to the first station that was a Shell station that just so happened to have a shop available. I did the shop while waiting for AAA to put my spare on the car.

Missed my other shops completely, the window closed before AAA got there. Tomorrow got expontentially worse, now I have to go to the tire shop and get the TPMS sensors replaced and my tire fixed. AND I have to go to a different state for 3 more grocery shops..

I'm going to have nightmares and be perfectly miserable all day tomorrow. I can feel it.

Hang in there....at least you were able to do a shop while waiting for the work to be done...that's clever.
The tire sensor on my car went awry, so I just leave it alone and go old school (keep a gauge in the car, couple bucks to buy one)
Hope your grocery shops glean some good stuff for you.

I hope your day goes better. What will happen if I don't get the TPMS fixed? Does it affect anything else?

I had 4 shops, thinking I could do them while Hubby was at hockey. After his eye appointment, he felt he couldn't go to hockey. Him waiting while I shop is just not relaxing. Aside from that I made mistakes on the Canadian Tire audit. C-Tire staff won't want a second audit, So waiting to hear what happens with that. And I did not like having 4 jobs to enter when I got home.

Not anything like your day but I'm re-thinking whether I want to quit substitute teaching. Work is done when I leave school.

I hope you did the AAA shop for $50. That would make up for the other jobs you didn't get to do.

I hope your day tomorrow starts out much better.

What were you purchasing the trailer for?

Whoa. High stress MLZ. I admire you ladies. All I know is to get in the car and drive it I filled my tank 3X in my life while out of state . My state is not pump your own. First time, had to ask for help, he was so nice and did everything (does that count)?. Second time, I was with my sister and we figured it out together although the dang attendant got on the PA system and was yelling at us unintelligibly. (does that count)? The third time, the attendant came out running as I pulled around and yelled, "Noooo, not my pumps!!!!". Apparently, I almost clipped them. Guess he was so happy they were still intact, he filled the tank for me
So nice. Guess that doesn't really count either. DH took my car to get inspected the other day. It crossed my mind that I never had to do it myself and was grateful for that.
My previous career was Automotive Technician for 30+ years. The TPMS doesn't actually affect anything at all, but it tells you when your tire pressure is low, so you don't drive on a flat. But nothing helps when the tire goes POP while you're driving. I did NOT go to the tire store this morning, I slept.. I don't think I had a choice.

The tire shop I like to go to is open on Sundays, so I'll go tomorrow when I go into town. I have a full set of TPMSs, I'll get a tire and have the new sensors installed. And after I get paid again, probably Monday, I'll order a new set of sensors. The batteries die in them all the time, and apparently the one in my right rear tire is in pieces.

Been driving with the TPMS light on our Honda for over a year. A deep pothole or rough road can trigger or blow out a sensor even if your tires are fine.
Don’t have to have a state inspection for another year, so it’s not a legal concern until then. I just keep an eye on the inflation levels, and so far so good….
I just purchased all new tires for my vehicle. When I got home, my TPMS light was on. I did a Google search and found out my car has a little tiny button down by the gas pedal, below the steering wheel, that resets my TPMS. After changing tires, the technician should have pushed that button but didn't. I pushed the button and held it a bit. The next day, I start my car up, and the TPMS light is magically gone.

That's interesting...my TPMS has been shot for a couple years and the car passes inspection here....maybe it varies by state.

Yeah. TPMS has nothing to do with emissions and/or the Check Engine light.
Bare,

Are you in CA? I'm missing about 9 years of updates.. But I was a smog tech in CA since 1987. So I kinda have a clue. TPMS was demanded to increase fuel mileage. It doesn't do anything for emissions, doesn't change anything that will change the outcome of a California Smog Test. And when I left CA they still did not have routine safety inspections like most other states.

I would call a defective TPMS a safety concern. But I'm not sure of the criteria of the safety inspections in other states. I do know that they are really picky about body rust and brake condition. And bad wiper blades in some states will cause a failed inspection.
No not in CA, in NY... have been using a gauge to monitor TP....may not be as effective since it's not in real time use.
I've mentioned before that I moved here from FLA. There, vehicle inspections aren't even a thing. Insurance companies probably share stats on all this.

Yea, most of the rusty states have safety inspections. And almost none of the Southern "red" states have any kind of inspections at all. TX used to when I first started in the 1980's but "they" took over and ended the program right around the time I was forced to retire.
