GFK online shopping

I thought I saw a thread on these shops but can't find it. Could someone please direct me? It is a shop where you order something online (up to $100) and then send it to GFK and they reimburse. Not sure if I want to apply or not.

I just sent an email declining these shops. I'm so frustrated with companies that keep the details a secret until after assigning you.

The shop involved purchasing the items and taking screen shots throughout the purchase process. You must save and rename the picture files with the VIN/item numbers. After reporting on this part of the assignment, you wait for the item to arrive. You must then PRINT the screen shots on separate paper and enclosed those 4/5 pictures in the box which you must adhere a shipping label to. You must manipulate the jpeg images to remove your personal information from the images.

The numerous steps, the threats throughout the instructions telling you will not be reimbursed if you do this/that or the other thing, the cost of printing 5 pages per assignment + cost of packing tape to cover up old labels and seal properly made me realize it was not worth the payment.

I am so glad you let us know this. I was thinking that it was going to be a okay gig, until you said this. I was told you just take screen shots and follow instructions to note the ease and customer service....no shipping
I was told in e-mail that the turnaround on reimbursement was approximately 2-3 weeks. However, I read the briefing notes and it says there it may be 4-5 weeks by the time the client reviews the returned merchandise and approves each shop.

I don't want to risk incurring interest on my business credit card for the sake of such a small fee. The eBay Bucks or reward points on my card would be nice, but not if I end up paying interest as I wait for reimbursement.

I had sent a special email asking about the turnaround time. I was told a week after receipt. Interesting.

I am likely not to trust this company again. They are very slow to reply to emails without follow-up sent (and even then sometimes) and the information they provide is inconsistent.
I had a bad experience with this one. They decided to not take my report for whatever reason, never let me re-subit, and then ignored my emails. Never again!!
Woah! Is this the purchase and ship to them? Are you out the money for purchasing and shipping the item you shipped away to them?
I never even got to the shipping product stage. They took 2 weeks to check my reports and they said my screen shots were faxes? I don't know what they are talking about, but they stopped responding to me. My screen shots were screen shots, idiots. Way to go, Gfk!
Are you able to send it back for a full refund?

No to the audit shops. There has been discussion on these.

The online shops were dangled as $11 shops, five a week for eight weeks. Sounds good. Except the shopper will be out of pocket $100 per pop for 4-5 weeks, til return shipping labels and reimbursements hit.
No, the seller won't take refunds. I've been consuming the product.... LOL (and will never work for Gfk again!)
So sorry to hear that Krissy. I was concerned about that possibility when reading the instructions.

I'm curious, how big are the items and how expensive is the shipping? Are the items heavy (e.g.: microwave) or small but expensive (e.g.: iPod). Thanks.
Thank you for your posts. I changed the shop dates on the purchase and return and they cancelled me. I did start one shop though. As it turns out the shop I did has two stores with the product and so I'm getting two shipments. I have not been able to get any response back. I assume I'll be out the $90, because the other store is not a shop listed with them.
Their email for the online shops caught my attention. It was said to be possible to complete 5 shops a week for 8 weeks. That adds up to a nice amount, and I wouldn't even have to leave the house. The email I received stated that the purchase would be about $100 each, and that the purchase plus the return shipping would be reimbursed in 4-5 weeks after the shop was completed and edited. GfK would send the return shipping label and the purchase would be picked up at my house.

The appeal to this was not leaving home, and the total I would make if I completed 40 shops. One or two shops alone would be of no interest to me. If I took all 40 shops available to me, I would be out of pocket $4,000 for a long period of time. No way!

I have no reason not to trust GfK. I have lots of reason to not be out of pocket thousands of dollars for that length of time. I would suggest that GfK speed up the reimbursement time.
Has anyone actually completed one of these jobs so they can report back the actual time for reimbursement since there's varying information? I've seen them repeatedly but I have been hesitatant to take a shop.
I declined the shop after I found out that I would have to purchase nearly $100 of merchandise per shop. I told the scheduler that if I had that kind of money, I would not need to be mystery shopping for $11 per. Even the qualifying portion, which I did do, was convoluted. Good luck if you decide to take this shop. Too risky for my blood.
I was excited about earning rewards on my credit card and eBay bucks, but not at the expense of interest on my credit card if they are as slow to pay as the stated 4-5 weeks after product's received by the client. That is a lot of interest!
