DO NOT sign up with MarketForce- another person kicked off..

Do you want to be fustrated and confused?

This company has the worst customer service and support out of any company I have ever worked with. I am new to this forum but a long time Shopper. They called me up to do a shop over and over. I told them I would assign it to myself if I can do this because I want to be 100% sure I can make it over there. Sure enough, I log in the next day and see that this on my page. I hurry up and complete the shop after driving who knows how far. I just made it in time as the shop was closing at 5pm. I shopped the location and did what I had to do. I had plans that night so I went straight out from there. I got home at midnight..... I complete the shop report at 1am.. SUBMIT...

The next day they said I could not get credit for the shop. I explained what happened and why it was an hour later for reporting. The schedular says no problem, be more careful in the future, you do a lot of shops for us and we recognize this. Well, The next morning, I can not ASSIGNED SHOPS OR SEE WHAT IS IN MY AREA. I write back to them and another schedule emails me.

Good morning TINA:

Unfortunately, we have decided that we cannot offer you any more assignments. As you know from reviewing the Shopper Quality Standards that are posted on our shopper website, we review each shopper's shopping history using several different historical reports. We hope that you can understand that we cannot share the specifics regarding why you are no longer being given the opportunity to select new shops; doing otherwise could reveal some of the most confidential and proprietary aspects of our business. Because Market Force is unique in this industry, we are not at liberty to share the decisions behind how and why shops are or are not offered to certain shoppers. However, we have had to remove your name from our shopper database and we will not be able to offer you any more assignments. We wish you professional success in your present and future endeavors.

And this is for life...
I have only been late on one shop 5 years ago with this company. Other then that, not other issues, problems, or questions... Are they kicking everyone off. A friend of mine told me they tell their CLIENT BASE that they rotate all shoppers... So everyone will get kicked off for life at some point.

Not the end of the world as there are more fish in the sea....

How many times are you going to post this? Considering your posting activity I suspect MF dropped you for some other reason.
I have never had a problem with Market Force!
Going back on the forums and looking at other posts, people have had the same issue as I.

And how could consider my post activity. I assume you are a newbie with only 54 posts and people on here have hundreds? What does this have to do with marketforce who has no relation to this forum. Or do they?
I am always intrigued by posts that say that MFI (blue) dropped them after one late shop report. I have a long history with them, and have had several occasions to have a report due at midnight entered the next morning. I always email to say that I am "running late." I do not explain why, just that fact. Not only have I not been dropped, but I get several calls per month asking me to take on additional shops with bonuses, and have the phone numbers for two schedulers.

Maybe it's the FF shops that make these issues? I would not know because I never do FF.

Based in MD, near DC
Shopping from the Carolinas to New York
Have video cam; will travel

Poor customer service? Don't get mad; get video.
I also get calls each month, but mostly for FF since I do them on occasion. Typically once a month for each chain that I like. I figure that is enough of a treat for my waist line. LOL However I will say that none of my reports have ever been late. I have no problems with them and like having a date range for most of their shops. It is only a few that you have to select a day. Is it only the FF ones that have a date range?
I work for about 25 companies, and Market Force is my favorite. I get calls monthly, and there is always a bonus. My check arrives each month right on time.

I've had a couple problems with other companies, but mainly because I wrote a somewhat negative narrative for a restaurant, and they reallyyyyyy didn't want to hear it. But I got paid, just haven't been able to land any assignments since. Not a problem, lots of companies like my work, so I'll stick with those.

I would just make sure that I am on time with other shops. It is what it is.

Me either. I love working with them.
Hi, Tina, I'm sorry to hear that you were removed from MarketForce as a shopper, and I'm sure you feel very sensitive about the removal. But the fact that you were removed as a shopper is not a good reason for other shoppers to not sign up with MarketForce. MarketForce is not my favorite company by far but they do have shops that I like and I shop for them. They are a good training ground for new shoppers. They offer self-schedule, their shops are mostly easy and the instructions are usually clearly written, the reports are quick and easy, and they pay on time. They do seem to have a history of removing shoppers and not explaining why. Reasons for removal seem to be anything from dropping shops, reporting late, doing too many of a particular shop, or any number of things - since they don't tell you why, it's impossible to know in every case what the reason is. I fully expect that some day I will reach the "magic number" and be deactivated .... and not told why. But, until then, as long as it serves my purposes, I will continue to shop for them. If at any time it no longer serves my purpose, I will drop them like a hot potato. If they decide first to drop me, then that's the way it goes. As independent contractors, we decide who we work for and when. We are free to work for any company we choose and stop at any time and the company is free to decide at any time to not continue to use our services.

I understand your frustration - I always prefer to be the one who chooses to drop rather than be the dropped one, but it doesn't always work out that way.
I seldom have the extra time to post on these blogs, thankfully ! As there are days, that I don't feel up to par and I may post something that would get me canned from a company that I enjoy working for.

It's like the old neighborhood coffee klatch, everyone knows someone and your posting may end up in their mail box. Be careful about being negative, you may end up loosing more than just Market Force.
I love Market Force. They treat me very well. I get lots of shops. I have no complaints.

I can say their pay is low but so aren't some other MS shops. If you belong to alot of MS companies, it all averages outsmiling smiley
You're not gonna "loose" anything by speaking your mind as long as you stay anonymous, which is easy to do here.

Market Force is one of the best companies I work for. They always pay me on time. I hope this does not happen to me. Sorry to hear this happened to you. Corporate Research International is another favorite of mine. You might try them if you are not already with them?
IT IS GOOD THAT THIS TYPE OF INFORMATION IS FREELY POSTED. IT ALLOWS FOR AN INFORMED DECISION FROM NEW AND OR PROFESSIONAL SHOPPERS. WE LIKE TO DO THE RESEARCH ON COMPANIES WE HAVE AN INTEREST IN AND WEIGH THE PRO'S AND CONS.

I am not Cher, but I will tell you why I type in all caps most of the time. My eyes are bad and it is easier to see what I am typing. And it is easier to read if people type in all caps. The tone of her message was not rude. I really don't know why people get so frustrated with people who typy in all caps. Etiquitte states you are yelling. Really? If I am yelling you will know it whether I type in all caps or if I don't.
My eyesight is nothing to brag about either, but I DO find all caps miserable to try to read. If you are having difficulty with the type size on your screen, hold down the CTRL button while pressing + and it will enlarge the type. To make it smaller, hold down CTRL while pressing -.

Never knew that. I tried and it works great. Thanks Flash
I guess one could quip about 'the blind leading the blind' :-). When I got a laptop I got the 17.3" screen so I could CTRL + to a comfortable text size without losing text off the sides of the screen . . .
Market Force is good in my book. I hate to say it but based on the majority of the responses I've read it looks to me like just maybe you should re-evaluate the situation, and see if you played a major part in what happened. Just a thought.
MarketForce provides a great training ground for new shoppers and most of us started with them. However, keep in mind that at some point you will be terminated as a shopper. It doesn't necessarily have anything to do with your reports or history except they regularly weed out long time shoppers.

Everyone please listen to the OP and DO NOT sign up with Marketforce....it means less competition and more bonuses for me smiling smiley I have worked for MF for awhile and I have canceled several shops, been late on several shops and still have not been deactivated. I know that someday I will be deactivated but until then I'll keep working for them.

New to this site, long time shopper. I'd hate to tell you how long I've been using this laptop and never knew about the CTRL + to enlarge text! Thanks so much for that. I'm thrilled.

As for Market Force, I shop for them a lot and have for years. Haven't been removed yet. I had an issue with one shop they weren't going to pay me for. I did everything right, but when I submitted the receipts, I uploaded my previous shop's receipts by mistake. I immediately realized it and sent the right ones. After talking with them, they reversed their decision and paid me. I like them because they have a lot of shops in my area and as someone else said they pay on time always.
Say, I just finished a Market Force report. What a coincidence.

It's true their pay is not so great. But it's commensurate with the effort required (except for the Arco d'Oro shops). And they offer lots of shops everywhere. And they pay reasonably quickly. That makes them, I agree, a great company for new shoppers to start with. I did, as have many.

And that means they serve a worthwhile role in the industry, screening out the most unsuitable shopper candidates, helping groom a pool of more promising candidates who will soon enough graduate to more demanding and higher-paying MSCs. Chances are, if there's a scheduler anywhere who has ever thanked their lucky stars they found so-and-so to take a shop, they could thank Market Force too.

I don't shop for them as much now. But it's hard to resist those Fingercount Fellows shops like I just did. Free meal and easy-peasy money to eat it.

Another way to resize text: if you use a mouse, you can also hold down CTRL and scroll the mouse wheel up and down.
Generally speaking, the pay is not so great, but from time to time, a shop with a good fee does show up. Another case of getting your feet wet and paying your dues with a new company.
Market Force can do what they like. I am not an employee. I am an independent contractor/ They can do what they like. If someone spills their coffee and they see your name, they can fire you. It's not personal.
The only real issue I have with them is they only allow 1 shop per brand. They have started servicing companys that I used to do through other Mystery Shop companies. Some gas ones we have, I would sign up for 3 or 4 of them. Now that MF has the contract, we can only sign up for 1 per cycle.
Lumeux,
what do you mean "1 shop per brand" (curios)
