Intouch insight.

It was on my assigned list as that is were I printed out the questions for the shop which showed the shop ID number. I did check the open assignments and it was not there. I though it may have been pulled because I did to many of the same kind of shops. It only allowed me to assign six at a time but it was a great way to pay for gas on my trips. I am planning a big trip on Monday and I want to select some of these but a little hesitant right now.

Pretty sure I know what shops you mean. When I did them last year it would only allow me to assign four at a time and then once I inputted them I could assign another four. I haven't tried to assign more than four this time because of that limitation last year. I agree this is a great way to pay for gas...my goal this month was to not pay for any for my car or my husbands but we have had to get some "filler" gas a couple of times.

AK_Fan, I have been doing a lot of shops for them for about 1 1/2 years and the same thing happened to me just now. I did my grocery shops 4/25 and today they're gone, so I cannot submit them. I called & left a message and emailed also, but now it's Fri. evening so no one is there. I have never had any problems like this with them. Did you get your issue resolved with them?
I sent an email the day it happened 4/19/2013 but have never heard back from them. I had company this week and didn't have time to call them and now it is the weekend again. I head back out of town on Monday so I may try to call them while I am on the road. Like I said before I would like to do more work for them but I don't want to have my jobs disappear again. smiling smiley
The mistake in my case was mine. Usually we have until Fri. to do and submit the shops, but was just informed by a fellow member that they had to be sumbitted by midnight 4/25.
Well I had two jobs assigned to me. I was able to enter one but the other was gone and it was the due date. I am still confused......
Just signed up with them. One of the MS they sent me was for a car dealership and they wanted me to submit a photo of myself for it. Is this normal? I know it goes against Canadian employment standards to ask for a photograph since it can create a bias on hiring you or not.

Any help would be great!
You're a contractor, not an employee, in this case. If they need a certain appearance, they can discriminate all they want. Part of being a mystery shopper is maintaining our anonymity by not being memorable. If your picture shows you to have spiked green hair, seventeen earrings, a nose ring, lip ring, eyebrow ring, and a tattoo of the devil on your left cheek, I think they would have to disqualify you. If they need a hispanic and you're a six foot four blond Norwegian, they would disqualify you too. All perfectly legal.

However, most likely all they want is to be able to identify you on security tapes if the shop is disputed.

I pray it does not occur that the last thing I did before I died was vacuum the house or eat broccoli.
It's not all that common for an MSP to ask for photo id, but some do. The identification may be needed to verify the personal information a shopper used to register. Another reason could be that the client requests it in the event the shop is challenged for reasons having to do with the shopper actually being on site and completing the requirements of the assignment.

Some MSPs want the photo, sometimes the client wants it. Only under extenuating circumstances would a client jeopardize a shopper's identity. I shop with Intouch, though my photo hasn't been requested. However, they don't shop car dealerships here.
Has anyone received an invitation to apply for GCS Field Research or already signed on and gotten jobs? I'd like to know what the assignments are like for GCS.
I have been shopping for GCS for eleven years. When I started they were Pinkerton but split off and took the Global name. Originally they had mystery shopping along with audits but stopped doing mystery shopping a number of years ago. You need a background check to do their audits which I think now costs $70. They pay twice a month and now have direct deposit since Intouch bought them. The thing I find strange is when they call me it shows up on caller id as private call or as blocked on my iPhone. I enjoy the work but in eleven years their staff turnover must be at least 500%.
I went ahead and signed up with GCS. I do not necessarily want to do the drug audits but am very interested in the business inspections. I've done my tests, passed and tomorrow I have orientation.

That's what I was told too and I'm waiting on them to pay $200 in fees/reimbursements for weeks now. Really hoping to get paid from them this week.. I like this company, they are Canadian as far as I know and pay pretty decent fees for the shops for very little work. I took on a shop that at the time I was able to complete but had an emergency come up a few days before the due date and I got reamed out by the manager for giving up the job. I get that it probably takes a bit of work to get someone else to take the job but I really didn't appreciate a condescending message assuming that I knew the entire time I wouldn't be able to do it. I feel guilty enough and really wanted the perk from the job.

Looking forward to more positive experiences with this company going forward...

Ugg. I did a grocery store shop for them yesterday and now it's gone from my history. Also, I don't like their website. No matter what I can't get it to show me any shops outside of my state. I live close to another state that I visit a lot because my parents and oldest brother both still live there. Can't get it to show me anything in either location, so I added a bunch of huge cities to my list, still nothing.

And now it's back. How odd.

Good morning bgriffin,

My name is Nicole and I am a Territory Manager with In-Touch. I do apologize for the disappearing act on your shop history. We did some updates to our system over the course of the night, and some things are taking a bit longer to come back to life than others. Everything should be running smoothly by the afternoon. As for viewing shops in a different state, you may change this in the preferences part of our website. Once signed in, you will see it on the left side menu board just beneath the update profile option. There you may select the states you wish to view shops in as well as the client you wish to shop. If you need any help or have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact one of us at the office by phone or email.
