Not getting paid

I have not been paid by a mystery shopping company that I did work for back in December of 2011. What is my recourse, if any? It is a considerable amount of money including both reimbursements and shop fees.

Your first step in all cases is to attempt to contact the company. I would make my first step an email inquiry. If it is a SASSIE company, go to the job board and use the 'Help/Contact' related to the job. If there is a Help Desk or similar on site resource, use that. I would give them 3 working days to respond before I got on the phone. If you can't find a phone number on their website, you can PM me and I will check my list.

Depending on what information you get from them, you can proceed from there.

My best guess is that non-payment for an accepted shop more than 50% of the time is due to honest oversight. But there are companies that seem to rely on shoppers never contacting them for payment and they only pay once requested.

One company I occasionally do work for always posts that my payment has been sent and does not allow me to contact them regarding payment for 30 days afterwards. Once I contact them I promptly get a check in the mail, always marked "Replacement Check". That of course is pure bull because I have NEVER received a check that has not been a "Replacement Check". Since they claim 60 days to pay I always work on the assumption that it is 90 because there has to be that 30 day wait from when they supposedly issued a check before they actually will issue a check.

I really wish you would both post the name of the companies that have been
playing those games - although I suspect Flash's is the one I'm still waiting for
my over $100 check "replacement".

I for one, and I'm sure other shoppers here, especially fairly newbies, would like to be advised who is taking 4 months to pay and playing "replacement" check games.

thanks

depending on who the company is, the answer might be different......and if we knew the company, some of us might have contact people/numbers to help get the problem fixed. A blind complaint really doesn't get you a personalized answer so it doesn't help you much, and without naming the company with whom you are having a problem your post does not give warning to other forum members.
The one that plays 'replacement check' games with me pays $12 to 'find the demo person'. It is not a company that many people bother with--including me-- and it is not on the list of 'legitimate' companies on this website. Every 6-8 months I do a shop for them to see if they have changed their ways. They haven't yet.
