I agree. Give them a break. They seem to be tuned to answering and helping folks on this forum.

If you don't like their policies and forms, you don't have to work for them. They are new here. Give them a break.

Above post, have you registered with them, please do and let us then know the amount of time put in, after being solicated ...I know of no other company, Coyle included where there is a more extensive application, plus photo and Drivers license, and being promised jobs in your area, with no information
that this new account has an age requriement. Trust me, I would not have applied. When you see someone is over their age requirement (that's fine),
but tell them up front. I feel this is dishonest, and coming on here to play with us and give out information on a forum, including my last name, who does that? when they don't answer you on on their site, and tell you why, I want to
know if it's worth my time checking them out daily. This is a bit shady in my eyes. I don't care about the 11.00 mobil shop, I do them for 15.00 without all the work, just be honest. Know when your played.

You know what, Irene, I did sign up with them and found their application process no more onerous than some others. I have also had to submit SSN and proof of driver's license to other companies. Quite frankly, I don't see a problem with that. There are many companies I have signed up with that have had no jobs in the two areas where I stay and perform shops. I have a bigger problem with companies that want us to accept shops without stating who the client is. However, I do not see anything they've done that is shady or dishonest. They did not offer a ridiculous amount of money per week, did not pull the check/money order scam. I also did not see anything that promised jobs in my area or that I would be assigned jobs that were available. I believe that is clearly stated in their IC agreement and is a pretty standard understanding of how this business works, that you are not guaranteed work, they are not obligated to assign shops to you and you are not obligated to take the shops. I've got more important things to do than check them out daily and will take a look if they send an e-mail stating there are jobs available. I'm not going to lose any sleep over the fact that I may or may not book shops through them.
Since I was involved in the brouhaha this morning I am going to add my two cents worth. The "rookie mistake" was publishing a shoppers full name. While their willingness to come here and clear up misconceptions and address shopper problems is more than welcome, they may not realize what this site is and what it means to many shoppers. It is a place where we can openly discuss mystery shopping companies and the idea is that we can do this in an atmosphere free of repercussions. Some choose to remain completely anonymous, others give hints to who they are, but that does not change the simple fact that this is a shopper's forum, not a company forum. In all honesty, I will never believe there was any ill will or malicious intent so Helion's only "mistake" was not knowing. They would also not know that other companies have outed posters on this board and the intent was to intimidate and bully. While it is important to protect each other and the sanctity of this forum, I do not want to see a company which has put forth such an effort to respond and be helpful driven away either.

I have no problem for those that find them duable, and want to work for them.
I never said they were a scam, I believe they are a viable company, so, to each his own. I just think they carried on a bit too much on our forum, and
solicate a bit too much, but work for whomever you choose, I'm over it and will give my effort to others, nothing lost or gained but time. Being a european company, they may or may not know procedure. I did get pm's from shoppers I respect and trust, saying they did the wrong thing printing my full name, thought it was unprofessional. I'm done as well, won't be liking them on FB.

So they knocked down my report grade for a spelling error.... good plan except no spelling errors in report.
I find this company a concern. They are not British, they are from Belgium. The guy signs every email in German and English.

That said, they have lots of shops in the LA area. I asked to do one, did it, and now am told that I cannot be paid without a driver's license on file. I ask why. To validate the work I did.

My driver's license info is none of their business. I am an independent contractor and did not do anything that required a driver's license. Someone suggested that this might be a group trying a massive ID fraud attempt.

I am not going further. Too many American firms that I trust, and too much concern about this company.

FYI - Google the history of moneybookers (loan sharks - dishonest). Stay with paypal.

I still say "STAY AWAY." There are many other companies that are easier to deal with and will pay.
Surftime -- I have no problem providing a copy of my driver's license. What does your driver's license contain other than the number that is not already provided? You've given them your address and social (which isn't included on most driver's licenses), your birth date. So, what exactly is on your license that they don't already have? I think you may be seeing a problem where there is none.
Ugggh I just started the sign up process! I should have read this post first!!

Why? I have done four shops for them. Am content that I will be paid and because I am signed up I will be able to quickly self assign more next month.

I've applied for several shops. The due dates come and go, and the shops are never assigned. I'm not impressed thus far.
I got an e-mail reminding me that I had a shop due today. Never got an e-mail stating that I was actually assigned the shop. Requested a new date and had no problem having the deadline extended which is something I can't say for other companies.
Hello,
I Have only been shopping for about three weeks now. Ironically Helion was the first company I signed up with. I actually had no problems at all uploading or with any other aspects of the sign up process. I have completed four shops for them and am scheduled to be paid on the 22ND of May for two of the shops completed. I honestly do not have much room to make any judgements thus far but I find the Helion site very easy to navigate and think that it is probably the best I have seen and used regarding simplicity and layout. I really enjoy their accents as well! The reports were fairly simple compared to some other unmentioned shopper companies that I have gruelingly completed. Anyway, I will let you all know how I make out on payday.

I applied today and it states it is verifying my drivers license. How long does that take?
Mine was approved within a couple of hours, I believe.

I gave up on my application.

It wont let me upload photos - no browse facility to choose and click on.

I'm using win xp and have no intention of upgrading cause I want the classic mail not the new email that everyone hates.,..if I upgrade it changes my mail -

What do they men they are "validating" drivers license ?

No Motor Vehicle Bureau is going to give out information about a drivers license
unless it is to another police official.

Even before Homeland Security existed police stopped giving out info - even for friends, and if caught they were fired....or at least in hot water.
I went through the signing up process and can't upload a pic or my DL.

Now what? Does anybody know what to do next?
I uploaded my pic and drivers license with no problem, now want to get my info. off the site.

"I had that problem as well...I'm wondering if there is an issue between the English" version of some words and the "American" version of the same words. I had difficulty typing in the numbers, i.e. How much was the quote..the system would not take $399.99. I kept getting an error message. So I typed in 399 and it took it....IDK...
They may be using British spelling which is a little different than American spelling for some words. I did my first report for them and had an issue because the associate did not perform some of the required tasks and there was not an option for "no." So, of course, I had to choose something to be able to finish and submit the report. Then I get a returned report message but can't get a hold of my community manager because she's on vacation (I had told her about the issue before the report went to the editor), then couldn't get a hold of anyone else. Finally heard from someone, explained the situation and haven't heard a peep. Haven't had time to go look at the website, however, the company being six hours ahead of us and with different national holidays sometimes makes communicating difficult.
