There are no stupid questions, but there are a lot of inquisitive idiots

When you try to please everybody, you end up pleasing nobody
The bottom line is that it depends on where you live. There are many threads re this In my opinion no such thing as the best. Sign up for as many as possible, that is what we all do No shorcuts.
I agree with cyn. While I think a "best" companies list is a great idea, best and worst are so subjective I don't think it would be valuable. It does depend on where you live. It also depends on each shopper's likes and dislikes. Some of my favorites are not popular with other shoppers here ....and I'm sometimes amazed to read someone post on the forum a favorite that I've put on my back burner and don't work for because I don't like them. Their favorite is my worst.

I do think it is VERY valuable to report late payers (by late I mean they pay later than their stated payment terms) and no-payers: Freeman, Franchise Compliance, Goodwin. I do not class as a late-payer any company, however slow they pay, that pays according to their stated payment terms because if they post their payment terms and I don't like them, I can choose not to accept their jobs. And I think it is a VERY good idea to do a Search on the forum before taking a job with a "new to me" company or one I haven't worked with in a while.
Giving you my top 15 (which there are 5), could lead to someone reading this forum living in my area, taking my jobs.....I have given my couple tops somewhere on this forum, but with so many shoppers out there taking jobs
and rotations, I need all my jobs, but it never hurts to ask. Find out yours
with trial and error like we all did.

Live consciously....
I see what your saying Irene_L.A. I dont do referral as I should because I do not want to create competition for myself.

Yeah I think it would be nice to have a list on the bottom of the forum of "Black List" Company to be cautious when doing business with. I think it is important to learn on your own with somethings, but with a board like this we are here to help each other as an industry.
When people ask about mystery shopping and how to get started, I too am reluctant to tell them what companies I work for. No need for extra competition! Selfish? Yes, but nobody helped me and I caught on really quickly. I don't think there is any way to make a "top" list. Everybody has different experiences. The famous $4 company, well, I love them! Take lots of bonused shops and they pay every 2 weeks and I have never had a problem with them at all. Better to have that list of "no Payers" where everyone can find it.
