Who Complained on Intellishop?

"Hello, grandma. =)

Would you mind sharing which one charges a monthly fee? Thanks."

Hi Busy Bee, it was Shadow Shoppers. The the trial membership free is $4.95 and if you don't cancel within 30 days, they auto bill you $29.95 per month... sad smiley

Thank you.

I never signed up with them and so I did not realize how much they charged. I knew they charged, which was why I never signed up. =)
Signing up with Shadow Shoppers is a rookie mistake. It's the same one I made when I started years ago. I sure wish this forum was around when I started. Follow the advice here and stay away from Shadow Shoppers. One of the ground rules of mystery shopping is that you should never have to pay money to sign up with a company. It is usually the sign of a scam.

Thanks mejv3, I am definitely a rookie and am also glad to have found this forum now!
I just did two hotel shops for Intellishop one day apart. They reimbursed one shop and not the other. I have been in contact and I keep getting the run around. I received a shop grade of 10 for each shop. They say they will reimburse expenses in 10 days, but it's been almost a month and no reimbursement for the last shop. I have e-mailed the appropriate person and he did reply, but without any answers....he says he wants to call. I don't get any calls.
Beware of doing the hotel shops, I think they just want the report and are looking for ways not to pay.
What is the best way to report them??
Intellishop takes there time to pay. But if we do not complete our reports we are in trouble. I really dislike when I finish a shop and I then need to go out of town they will get mad that we did not respond quick enough. We are not employees so we have lives. It is not our responsibility if they take too long and we then are not able to respond immediately. Now this is not meant about Intellishop just shops in general. K
They contacted me 28 days after I submitted a car dealership shop and wanted more detailed information. I take really good notes but not editing/reviewing a shop until almost a month after it was due is a little outrageous. I will not do those shops anymore due to this. Every one I have done for them they want more details when I gave them blow by blow and quote the entire conversation with the salesman! Then they rate me low for not providing enough detail and having to ask for more. I don't know what else to tell them when they get everything from the weather, the test drive route (with street names and conditions), entire conversations, and descriptions of the dealerships inside and out.

The 30 day pay shops are better and at least they get reviewed quickly enough that if they want something else I still remember it.
I am again very grateful for this forum. I would have probably tried one of these car dealership shops if it had not been for some of the negative posts I read here. Ten foot pole.
I always look at the MSCs that have a quick pay turnaround first. Then I might fill in with the companies that pay 45 - 60 days out.

They gave me a 7 and a email saying thanks for the great report, good details, no feedback.....huh!

Hands-down, Intelli always grades much more harshly than other MSCs. With other Sassie companies, I've never gotten less than a 10. Intelli routinely gives me 8-9. Sometimes they give an explanation, sometimes they don't. I've learned to not let it bother me.
I now think they have money issues after checking my shop log. I did four shops where I was supposed to purchase specific items. I have done a number of these as fillers for my schedule almost a year ago. One shop was rejected because I bought one item which wasn't supposed to be sold that day but their reasoning was I bought a different title. The title was exactly one of the two in the Guidelines. I did not buy the other one because it was not available.

I could easily have said the other one was not available, too and be done with it and the shop would have been accepted. But I told the truth and bought it like I was supposed to do. I did an extensive research on it in the Internet and indeed, the same title have different covers. The salesperson insisted that it was the very same one. For a company that pays too long, they do have a tricky way of getting out of it. They never even bothered to email me about the review. I would say Intellishop is on/off for me. I am not too sold on them.
I read they have shortened their pay period to the following month. I just completed an auto dealership for them, and expect pay when they stated.

This is directly from their website. Note the phrase "selected shops." Unless they specifically stated, in writing, the shop would be paid out in 30 I would not expect it before 60.

"Payment for your shops will automatically be sent through PayPal approximately 60 days after the last day of the month in which your shops were completed. We normally pay on the 20th of the month (or on the following business day). Selected shops may be sent to PayPal approximately 30 days after the last day of the month your shops were completed."

Never try to teach a pig to sing. It's a waste of your time and it really annoys the pig.
Lisa is right. From what I have seen the shortened time period is only on selected shops. While their 60-90 day pay wait is a bit long they have always paid as their terms of payment stated so I do not feel I have any reason to complain about it.
Well, I'm not impressed. I've done 7 shops for these guys and 3 of them they claim I didn't follow the rules and therefore I won't get paid and they gave me 1/10 ratings on all of the shops! The other 4 I did in the very beginning of September with good ratings. Only 2 of which are marked pending payment and I STILL haven't been paid on any of them!!! I seriously doubt that I'll be doing any more work for them.
Meow - The payment on the September shops is not due yet. I can't see the specs on your particular shops, but my guess is they'll be paid no sooner than 60 days from the end of September unless you were specifically promised earlier payment. I'm sorry about the ones they didn't accept, but it's standard procedure for a company not to pay if they can't use the report. That happens to a lot of shoppers with lots of different companies, particularly when the shoppers are relatively new. Not saying you are new, but I noticed you recently joined the forum so perhaps you haven't been doing this for long. Looking back over your reports and understanding what part(s) didn't meet guidelines will be helpful on future jobs, regardless of which company you're working with. Thanks for sharing with us, and welcome to the forum.

Mary is right on target with Intellishop's payment. Below is their posted payment schedule from their FAQs:

"Shopper Payments
When will I be paid for my shop?

Payment for your shops will automatically be sent through PayPal approximately 60 days after the last day of the month in which your shops were completed. We normally pay on the 20th of the month (or on the following business day). Selected shops may be sent to PayPal approximately 30 days after the last day of the month your shops were completed.

Please keep in mind that it takes PayPal up to 5 business days to process payments once they have been transferred. We ONLY pay via PayPal; no checks are ever issued. "

They do pay slower than many other MSCs but their payment is reliable. Did they clearly explain to you what part of the shops for which you will not be paid that you did not do correctly? If not, you should contact them to learn exactly what you did wrong. Again, Mary's right, it's a learning experience.
DW,

If you would be transparent enough to share some of the details of their critique, perhaps those on this forum can help you learn how to do better in the future. I'm a fairly new shopper, but didn't do Intellishop jobs until I had quite a few other successful shops under my belt. They require a bit more narrative and it needs to cover all the details listed in the client guidelines.

We're here to help!
