I have a few of these free discount cards already and this one looks pretty much the same. It might help if you can only use name brand meds, not generic. The ones I have seen only give a discount on the brand names.

By sign up do you mean the card has to be registered or something? If you mean just receiving the card, every IC with About Face did and it really is a nice thing for them to do. I rarely take prescription meds and haven't compared it to my health insurance co-pay. Honestly, my health insurance is not the best in the world so it is possible this card will provide a better discount.

I received the cards today, but I have prescription insurance, so it was not something I need. However, in the past, when I did not have prescription coverage, I used a similiar card and it works for generic, as well as brand. One of the medicine I filled was $57, and the card reduced it to $35 something.

I did received it and thought it nice, don't know yet if I will use it...but good to have (just in case).

basically what the card does, is it reduces your price to what the insurance company would pay for it, instead of full retail.

I don't pay retail for anything generic with Medicare, for instance, If I need eye drops costing 90.00 (will that work, we'll see). I now pay 1.00
for the generic which works fine. I need to know if it covers everything. Gonna go to the drug store today and get more info..will post later.

I won't be using it, but I thought it was nice of them to include their shoppers in the offer. I've never received any freebies before from any MSC without having to schedule a job to get it. It's a refreshing change.

I got one, I called them and it would not help me. They only give discounts if you have NO assistance at all that means you can not get your meds at any pharmacy that has a $4 or otherwise lowered price list. I use Walmart so I could not use the card because my meds are already discounted. Its a waste of plastic.
I wouldn't call it a waste. It was a nice gesture and I am one of those that has never seen an offer like that from any MSC, including those that had ongoing projects for a relatively small group of auditors.

Would it be possible to give it to a friend with no Ins....I'd love to give it to someone I know, would be a big help for her family, guess I'll call and see if it can be transfered. I think it a nice gesture as well.

I don't think it's a waste at all - it was a very nice gesture from them, imo. There are some people who take medications for which there is no generic equivalent and this could save them a lot of money.
Yes, I was asking if it has to be for your family or will they know. I gave it to my friend, she was so happy, has no Ins., and three kids. Hope it works for her.

@Irene

Don't you think that your friend would have to show proof that her name was
Irene from LA, though?
