Intellishop warning

verysecret,

I agree - you should scratch them off your list. I don't know if you will have any success in small claims.

However, if you really want to stick it to them, keep accepting jobs and filing similar reports. I can see no better way to punish them for continuing to deal with you in this fashion.

I did do three shops for them, three different schedulers, plus their editors. Each had picayune details to be redundantly overstated, and I wasted much time, more than the shop payment was worth.

However, IMHO, the level of the written commentary from' rainbow ceramics' and 'PLAYMAKER' also tells a tale....
I don't have any information on suing the MSCs, but I'm keenly interested in how this works out. I hope you'll keep us posted on your progress. Would you mind telling us how much money is involved here that you're willing to spend the time and effort going to court to get it? Are you suing to collect on accepted reports, or are you suing to collect on reports that were not accepted? I know it may not be the amount of money and that it may be the principal that concerns you. Your time has value and a suit would add to the hassle. Is your case strong enough you would stand to collect a large amount of money if you won? What would happen if they brought a countersuit? What are the chances they will roll over and not fight back?

I have done work for about 20 different MSC's, and IntelliShop is the one for which I have performed more shops than any other. I have done all sorts of shops for them, including phone shops, restaurants, tours, circuit shops, car dealerships, audits, customer counting, purchase-and-reimburse, purchase-and-return, and non-purchase retail shops. In every case, the schedulers and evaluators have been fair, equitable, and professional. I have lost a point here and there for information that required subsequent clarity, but overall they have been happy with my work and I have been happy with them. (And in every case where they required follow-up, I have received an email in addition to a note in my shop log.) They may not be the fastest paying company -- their policy is 60 days after the last day of the month in which you complete the shop -- but I've never had to chase them down for unpaid shops. In my own experience, they have been a great MSC to work with. On a few occasions they've even contacted me about a shop before they posted it on their job board. It seems to me that if you do good work for them, you will be rewarded.
mjk,

Welcome to the discussion. I see that you've been a member for a couple months, but this is your first post.

It would be great to tell us a bit more about yourself in the new Member Introduction area.

Always try to look your very best on camera. Practice your smile in the mirror of your car before you go in. You could ALLWAYS be on camera, ANYWHERE.

They had me at "You have to go to a dealership and attempt to buy a car without participating in the sales presentation.”

If the sales person mentions a feature you can not, for example, ask them to elaborate. If you sit there for a few minutes without showing any interest the salesperson will know you are a mystery shopper and show you the door without a business card.

Since you do not have a business card you will not be paid because it is required that you must obtain a business card.
Isn't that the truth? smiling smiley

I have done several shops for Intellishop. I think that what they put on their website would only be check in the case of a negative report or perhaps a he said/she said situation. It would be impossible to check every shop against the video. If that were the case, they would not need any mystery shoppers, they could simply watch videos all day. Not to mention the fact that it would not be cost effective to check every shopper.
I hope they video me. Then they would have a great video for training people on how it should be done! smiling smiley

Me too, Andrew. I hope they video me. It will back up my report 100%.

I had them look at a tape just the other day on a report. Not only were the employees rude and the drink bar absolutely filthy, but one of the employees came out from behind the counter and had his uniform pants on gangster style with the waistband down below his buttocks. The shop tried to dispute it by claiming I could be seen on the tape watching the TV . I stood my ground. So far I have not heard back from my rebuttle. I think they were just upset about the negative report--something I rarely do.
When I was new, Intellishop editing and score silliness annoyed me almost enough to cut them loose. It would have been a mistake. I have done 20, paid for 20. There were two cases where I made a mistake bad enough that even I thought they should partially reject, but after passing it back and forth a time or two, all were accepted.

I don't think I've seen a shop with this warning not in their guidelines. Even if they don't check, I'm sure it will scare away a few bad apples.
