BEWARE, DO NOT WORK WITH NATIONAL SHOPPING SERVICES

Be-Ware!!!!!

I did one of their pizza delivery shops as my 1st assignment. They nitpicked my pictures (taken with a high quality, professional camera) to death and ended up not paying me for my assignment.

Not very professional.

Anyone wants to look at the pictures, e-mail me and see for yourself. You can even count the pieces of ham on top of the pizza.

In summary...I told them to deactivate me from their database.

They are not very professional!!!

it's possible that everyone who had great successs with the company may not have had the same editor or it also could be that there's a new editor.

Maybe everyone should give the name of their editor to see if it's the same as the OP's before looking at his pictures.
anyone that wants to see the pictures, e-mail me to:

pepo_1000@arizona.usa.com

I will not post them anywhere.

It would be better to see the pictures here for more transparency and better critic and opinions to the same.
I don't think anything would be gained by posting pictures of pizza on the forum. I think rardon is wise not to post his pizza pictures from his NSS shop. Posting pictures on the internet taken on during the course of a mystery shop is getting a little close to ICA violation for me.

My sympathies, rardon. I refuse to do pizza shops that require photos. I figure I don't like pizza enough to deal with these pictures.
i haven't worked for them, but i have had that happen very rarely, but i do almost no shops that require photos. I had one company deduct money for every hour the report was late, but thats different. I would find some more high paying shops that require less work (i know its easier said than done) but that is what I have been focusing on. doing 2 shops for banks and getting $100 is fine by me. (yes they do have 100 multiple guess questions, but its not difficult questions.

I have been surprised by the amount of people that are asking the pictures to be posted someplace. Sorry folks, but I will not do that.

On top of that...some of the posters here want to judge my work? Please...but I'm not here for that.

My sole intention was to warn everyone that National Shopping Service is not a company to trust. Simple as that.

Well...there is taking someone's word for what companies can be trusted, and there is seeing pictures that one would deem acceptable, yet were not accepted. I'm not advocating that you post the photos, I'm just saying that it may be hard to judge the authenticity of your statement without seeing them.

I'm guessing the pictures are high-quality, but perhaps there is some issue with them that another forum member may be able to point out. As much of a PITA that the pizza shops are, I'm guessing that NSS does not randomly toss out acceptable shops.

The problem seems more like it's about the incredibly fussy pizza client than the MSC. Whatever MSC ends up with pizza photos, they always take a lot of heat from shoppers with rejected reports. Very few NSS complaints ever surfaced before the pizza came aboard.
@SteveSoCal.

Do you want the pictures? e-mail me...at pepo_1000@arizona.usa.com

I don't really care to see them, I'm just explaining why your claim could be seen as suspect without seeing them.

I've done the pizza shop perhaps twice in my life so I'm no expert. Show them to someone that does the shop regularly and you may get an answer as to why they were rejected....
Again...I will e-mail the pictures to anyone that wants to see them

UPDATE......posted on other thread, but think this important enough to repeat.
My two alerts were removed, all was taken care of, seems they got behind and are catching up. I have taken another job for them tomorrow, for those with sincere problems, wait it out, for others, ?????. I never do any pizza shops, so not familiar with those, no advice!!

Live consciously....

Hey, You offered!

Robin

Silver certified, I shop in Cities in NM and TX that no one has ever heard of.
From National Shopping Service: Our company strives to provide our client's with the highest quality data. Whether images are involved or not, each piece of data supplied by our shoppers goes through a strict set of quality control measurements designed around our client's requirements.

We always advise our shoppers to take many extra photos when completing assignments that include precise images. If/when we come across images that are not up to our client's requirements, we ask for the additional photos from our shoppers. Many times, we can replace the original images with some of the additional images the shopper provides and send the report through.

In reference to this particular assignment, the photos were not taken per the shopper instructions and training materials provided for this program. The main issue with the images was the angle. Our client demands some of the photos are taken at a precise 90 degree angle. These photos were not at a 90 degree angle. When this shopper was asked if they could provide additional photos, the response was that no additional photos were taken. Unfortunately, we could not use the only photos the shopper had taken.

It is unfortunate that this report could not be used. If the instructions had been accurately followed, this report would have been sent to our client. We always have staff available to go over any questions shoppers may have during all stages of their assignments. We encourage our shoppers to call whenever they need clarification on anything. Our goal is for all assignments to be done within client specifications the first time and for our shoppers to be successful.
@nss2510:

many people around here are unhappy with your firm. I hope you get the message

In regarding to the pictures...the angle was perfect (no shadows), the resolution good. You guys just chose not to use my report (at least is what you folks said)...period.

I'm not new to Mystery Shopping.....done it for more than 5 years with a good number of companies.

Anyhow...I requested to get deactivated. Your firm is not worth my time and effort.

I have only been working for this company for a few months and have not done pizza shops. I did one a few years ago for a different company and find them so not worth the time and effort...now if it was what I consider good pizza I might feel differently. As a relatively new shopper for them I have had no problems at all. They have honored their bonuses and agreements with me and have been super on phone calls both in speed of answering and in working with me on interpreting the rules. However, as there is a sport shop a few blocks from my house, I sure hope it ends up getting bonused at the end of the month as $10 reimbursement only at an expensive store is like the pizza for me, so not worth it.
this to me is black and white. Either they were taken at 90 degree angle, or they weren't. Regardless if you feel they can see everything, the 90 degree angle is mandatory.

I have never had a problem with them and they are very nice to work with. Again, this is MY experience, so please don't think I am discounting anyone's bad experience. I have had my fair share of bad experiences so I completely understand the frustration. I recently had a $60 shop disqualified, not by my MSC, but by the client they were doing the shops for. The MSC apologized extensively to me as they did not agree with the reasons the shop was invalidated. Truth of the matter is, and I have lost money myself learning the lesson, if the client refuses to pay the MSC, the MSC can't pay you.
I love doing Pizza shops as my kids have made a formal declaration that Friday nights are pizza night in our house. I am scoping out the companies I know that do these shops starting on Tuesday of every week!
The best trick I have learned is this....now, take into consideration that your kids and pets need to be out of the room and you need to have a clean floor for sanitation purposes, not photo purposes. Place your pizza box on the floor with the shop ID info you need to photograph with it. Stand over the pizza with your camera directly above it until you notice that you are creating a shadow over the entire image you see in the camera. This will keep shadows out of the frame, and by default will likely ensure you are at the right angle. Before anyone comments, I know this is ridiculous, but it works every time, never had a shop rejected, and I must get free pizza every Friday night! When you are taking those crazy side shots, I place the pizza box on the counter, fold the front flap of the box down, and close it in a drawer to show the whole pizza. I line up my camera (i.e. cell phone) to where the bottom of the box is completely straight with the bottom of my viewing screen. No matter which angle or what type of picture I am taking, I take multiple shots. It looks like I am doing a photo shoot on my kitchen floor for Glamour magazine most every Friday night!!! I get the same strange looks from my husband and kids every week, but when the payment comes, those looks tend to fade. Now, I get some odd looks, but not all that heckling like I used to get.
I've done many of these and have never had one rejected or even questioned. There are sample photos showing the proper angle. I also put the box on the floor for the overhead shot. It's really not that difficult.
I have done several pizza shops for them, with no issue. They actually called me today to schedule another shop for tomorrow, which I accepted. There are no problems with this company.

The pictures that I saw were not at the right angle. If they are not at the right angle, then they won't be accepted. Period.
I had no problem with pizza pictures and never had a shop rejected. The instructions are clear and the picture examples are great. However, I am no longer allowed to do pizza shops because the company outed me. I was doing them back when we were allowed to ordered very specific pizzas and no specials, coupons to the point where it did not make sense. So it became very obvious I was shopping them. After I was told I can no longer do them, they changed the requirements and it was easier. Go figure! :-/

I've done 6 shops for them, never a problem. I didn't find them picky.
