So I get a phone call from a guy that says he got my name from a merchandising website I signed up with. Yes, I know I signed up with them. Anyone ever heard of them?

Yes, Managers with merchandising companies will share your name with managers from other companies looking for merchandisers. Usually they ask for your permission to share your name and contact information. The only work they have for me is at F$ once a month. We do not have any big stores so there may be more for you in your area. You do have to agree to a background check which they pay for. You can bing spar inc and their site should be first. It was a minute ago.

They aren't the highest paying merchandising company (~9.00/hr), but they have as many or more clients than anyone, bar none. If you live in a decent sized area and they don't already have a rep there, you will have plenty of work. Also, they hire merchandisers as independent contractors. As for pay, I have never missed a check from them. Every 2 weeks like clockwork.
