Shadow Agency

What are the pluses and minuses of this company? There seems to be some confusion in the Shaddow Shopper thread. Shadow Shopper is not the same as Shadow Agency. I wanted to sign up for this company but my best girlfriend tells me that she stopped working for them because they dont return her emails. I would like to hear some other peoples opinions? Do they return your emails? What is their pay period? Do they pay on time or do you have to chase them down?

I do video shops for The Shadow Agency, and have not had problems. You MUST invoice in order to be paid. This has caused some shoppers a delay in payment because they did not submit the invoice. I have shopped for them for years with no problems. I have my scheduler's cell number and have no trouble getting in touch.

Poor customer service? Don't get mad; get video.
Shadow Agency is an excellent company for traditional non-video and video shops. Shadow Shopper is more of a job board comparable to the likes of JobSlinger.

The Shadow was also played by Billy Zane and Alec Baldwin. smiling smiley
I've shopped with them for years without a glitch. However, since a new scheduling manager came on board, it seems there are a lot of short deadlines and emails like, "Can you drop what you are doing and get these shops completed yesterday?".

I sense a lack of organizational skills and miss the former scheduling manager.
purplecow,
I don't know where you are located, but I did pick up two shops on short notice for SA when the first shopper broke her ankle an had to cancel.

I work with Lisa W and have not had any problems.

I shop their new homes, and although I have never had a problem, they don't answer emails...if you work for them, take care of your own business, and try not to communicate. Just working around the problem.....you can always go through the scheduling Co.

Hmm,
All of the videos that I have done have not involved a scheduling company. Maybe that is the difference? I can reach my scheduler by phone, even on weekends.

I concur with Walesmaven on this. I've done probably close to 2 dozen shops with Shadow over the past year and have absolutely never worked with a scheduling company. Both schedulers that I deal with (the owner and a very nice lady) are very available either through email or telephone.

Which brings me to the question from the OP: are you absolutely certain that you are referring to the correct company? Curious.
Shadow does use a scheduling company for the traditional shops, but the name escapes me at the moment.

Eric I just asked my girlfriend on the phone if it was another separate scheduling company she worked with. She said she did not believe so. Seems like other shoppers emails were also unanswered going by this thread and the other thread.
