The best thing to do with any MSC is to weigh the pros and cons and decide if it will be a good fit for you. A lot of this discussion revolves around the website and some deactivations. There is a link directly below your post to more discussions about the company. You will still find a variety of opinions, but also more information about their pay structure and the types of shops and reports.

Destiny, I recommend that you do all of the above, and then give MarketForce a try, if you see shops of interest. Thoroughly review and familiarize yourself with the shop instructions beforehand. Start slowly, one or two, and see how it goes. One nice thing about them is being able to self-assign. Their reports are not difficult and they pay like clockwork.
I do a lot of work for Market Force. Until they do something to personally pi$$ me off, I will continue with them. I love the self-assign and self-reschedule features! I have gotten bonus/travel money from them in the past and the scheduler I worked with by phone was very helpful and moved the date of a shop I really wanted to do so that I could work it in with my route. AND, without asking, she kicked the fee up by $5 (it was a FF shop so I got a yummy meal with an easy report for $12 instead of their original $7 fee).

I know some people have had issues, but they're one of the first places I go when I'm starting to build a route.

I work only on the blue side and have found this to be a great company. It would be a smart move to get going with Market Force. I recommend the same procedure as with any new-to-me company, which is to start with one shop and see how it goes. Be sure you have a good grip on the guidelines before you do the shop. Most of their shops are moderate pay, but the bonuses can be quite good sometimes. Staying in their good graces will definitely pay off.

This MSC is one that can set up a new shopper with a solid foundation of what is expected on the majority of assignments they will encounter. The elements that are reported on are universal to most other MSCs, but presented in a clear and understandable manner that some other companies do not manage as well. Expectations and guidelines are outlined in such a way to ensure the shopper has no questions or areas of confusion. Due to the self-scheduling benefit, a shopper can more easily plan their shopping itinerary. Payment is made in a timely and regular fashion. Their website is easy to negotiate, and not prone to crashing or other glitches.

Market Farce is one company I highly recommend you avoid. They do not appreciate hard work and commitment.
Well, Destiny, here you have opposing views. I think everyone is giving you a straight answer, based on their own experience. You still have to make the choice whether to jump in or not.

I would recommend you sign up and try them out. They have a good variety of clients, they provide very clear shop instructions in most cases, and their reports are fast and easy. They pay like clockwork. They are a very good training ground for new shoppers. You should be fine if you read the guidelines and perform the assignments correctly. If you do not follow the instructions when you do a shop, you likely will not be paid. Read and carefully follow the directions.

Note: I am only recommending MF Blue - the mystery shopping side - NOT PURPLE -I don't recommend their merchandising and theater checks although some like them.
My experience (all good so far) has been with the "blue" side.

I can't argue with them of the restaurant side. (The other portal did blow, though. Got one theater gig done and that was it for that side.) They must love me, because I get tons of bonus money offers, though many are Golden Arches which I haven't done the test for yet and am unsure I will ever do it. Plenty of FF shops to choose from and they're easy. I pillage for the food, so pay is not the biggest of my concerns.

I did some purple projects when I first started out, but my newness wore off quickly after experiencing a few of those assignments. I call that portal "The Dark Side Of The Force". Ugh. tongue sticking out smiley

I loved working for Market Force. My husband and both daughters worked for them, as well. After about 4 years of submitting great reports, the 'select shop' button disappeared for both me and my husband. After emailing, we found we were deactivated. The reason was very vague and sounded like something completely made up as an excuse. Of course, they couldn't discuss anything with either of us. We did great work, were offered many of the 'Samantha' select shops, etc...etc. By the way, they deactivated us around our birthdays. I would NOT recommend working for them, as you will enjoy working for them, and when they deactivate you for absolutely no reason.....you will be devastated. This was my last response from them: "Please note that either party has the right to terminate the Independent Contractor Agreement at any time and for any or no reason. This is the same for shoppers who ask to be deleted; we do not require a reason. We have had to remove your name from our shopper database, and we will not be able to offer you any more assignments."

Thank you,
Did you just join this forum to rant about MF? Although this is an issue that has been discussed before your post would have more credibility if you contribute something positive to the forum.
Raven, welcome to the forum. Now that you're here, I'm hoping you'll hang around and share experiences with us. I know you're not happy about being deactivated, but it sounds like you and your family have had a really good run with Market Force. It's not uncommon for forum members to mention being deactivated and not really knowing why. Most of us who are shopping with Market Force understand that at some point we will probably be deactivated. You mention it happened around your birthdays. I'm 75 and they haven't deactivated me yet, so I'm thinking the age cutoff (if there is one) is older then 75. I'll continue to shop for them as long as it works out for me and for them, and if and when I'm deactivated I may regret it but I won't take it personally. I think I read somewhere on the forum once that they have a formula, but apparently none of us know what it is. Not to worry, lots of companies out there so best of luck with moving on.

Actually, I was looking online to see if this situation had happened to other shoppers because I was puzzled and upset. I merely wanted to contribute my personal experience. I am a positive person, but this experience really affected me.
Many people have come here to vent about being deactivated by MF with no explanation. You are certainly welcome to do likewise. Hopefully you will stay and find many other companies to shop for. There is life after Market Force!

you may find this is a good thing because now you will be forced to find what may turn out to be better shops.
