Help!!! Serious Cori problem.....

Hello All, Check this S**T out!! I was at an electronic store earlier today and left an SD card that contained images of ten gas station jobs not yet submitted to this company in my trucks drink holder. Long story short, this SD card went missing. I looked high and low and this thing can not be found. Sooooo, it is Saturday and I cant get ahold of a scheduler to hopefully have these jobs re-assigned to re-shop, we are talking some decent commissions.

Does anyone have any words of wisdom in advising me through this especially unique, for lack of a more appropriate word, situation. I mean what are the schdulers going to say to something like this?

Oh yeah, FYI, I know that a particular person took this SD card to spite.......Even better, Right?!.....I am at my witts end.

I had a friend lose an SD card in her car and after calming down a bit and looking again, they found the thing. First thing to do, relax and have a glass of wine or whiskey or whatever is appropriate. Second, if the shops were scheduled for today, the computer will not "unassign" them until Monday at noon eastern time. Before deciding how to handle it, look again later or even tomorrow for the card. You then can make the decision whether to return tomorrow or wait until after you speak with a scheduler on Monday morning. Even if you redo the audits tomorrow, hold off on reporting until they are able to adjust the dates in the system. It is much easier on everyone that way.

Lisa, These jobs were dated for yesterday, so by noon tomorrow they will be off my jobs list and back on the board. I am sure some of them will be picked up by another auditor. My question is what will the company have to say about it? Will they deactivate me? I want to re-shop them and this company knows that I am reliable 99.9% of the time.
It will depend on who you talk to there. You will be blocked from self assigning when all those shops come off your page because your rating will fall below the minimum. They can manually fix it if they want and in some case will do it.

Some of the jobs will likely get taken if they are higher commissions...

Techman, With all due respect, I hardly see room for learning pertaining to this situation. My F**cking SD card was stolen out of my truck by some malicious piece of s**t.

Can you please tell me who would be the best person to speak to at Cori about, what I consider, a serious problem.
Excuse me, but his post said nothing about learning. However, his new permanent signature line does.

I was just wondering if you could get the pics out of the camera from the internal memory with the USB cord. ?
With all due respect, if this type situation happened in the workplace, most supervisors (at least the ones I have experienced) would expect me to find the SD card and submit the reports on time. Domestic disputes should not interfere wihh ones job. Another option would be to purchase a new SD card and re do the shops.

To answer your original question, I do not know who to talk to at CoRI. I would think they would not be lenient.
I apologize for the misunderstanding and for appearing to be hostile or not grateful. This was not a domestic situation. I have an ongoing stalking issue with a very sick person. I have contacted the police to find out that there are no cameras placed outside the electronic storen in which this incident occurred.

I will just have to explain the situation and hope the good people at CORI will take pity and take into consideration the unfortunate circumstances.

Once again, I apologize for coming off pissed, but being penalized for being victimized is not a good feeling.
Unless you saw the person take the card, my original advice stands and you should check you car again. Janalou also offered a good suggestion. The only person I can suggest speaking with at CORI is your scheduler. They have a real person answer the phone during the week. I always verify the person I need is in the office before agreeing to leaving a message in their voicemail. The receptionist has also been wonderful about putting me in touch with someone if the scheduler is not available and it is an urgent situation. The computer may penalize you when the jobs are pulled from your queue. Your rating can be restored.

Okay, the horse is already out of the barn here, but ... why was the SD card not still in your camera? Those things are so tiny you can sneeze and send one flying across a room. Mine comes out to go into my computer's SD slot and then goes back in the camera.

And.... I hate to suggest the obvious ... but did you look in your camera to make sure it wasn't still there?

Apparently you didn't SEE the stalker steal it or you wouldn't have searched for it, so maybe another search with a flashlight or have someone else look for it too might just turn it up after all.

Depending on the memory and type of camera you used.... there is a shadow of the SD pics on your camera's memory. It may cost you an arm and half a leg to get the images off the camera, but it will save face with both Cori... and get your shop money. Try calling Best Buy and talking to a tech or call a camera store.

That was my question, too! Why on earth would anyone ever take that tiny little thing out of the safety of the camera in the first place?! What is the reasoning behind that? Even though Techman's post wasn't about learning... *that* would be where there's room for learning in this situation. NEVER take the SD card out of the camera unless it's going immediately into the computer's SD slot... then right back into the camera... like itsasecret, that's the only way I handle mine, too. Too much risk of losing (or damaging) the damned thing otherwise.

I agree with the search suggestions, unless you actually saw it get stolen. Those things are teeny... could be in any number of little weird places in the car.

What an aggravating thing to have happen, though! I hope you're able to either find the card, or get CORI to let you re-do!

My original assumption was the jobs had been on Saturday since the post was Saturday night. Apparently they were actually completed on Friday. While I don't always submit reports the same day as a shop or audit, unless I am staying home the following day, pics are copied to my computer that evening.

Thanx for all your feedback. The SD was not in either my computer or my camera because the pics were about to be resized on different computer. There were a few significant things that lead up to this near catastrophe. The card was stolen for spiteful reasons, I spent time looking for the SD because you do not want to believe that someone violated your life like that.

I just got off the phone with one of the schedulers, my rating is going to be restored back to where it was and I will have an opportunity to re-shop the ones that have not been already picked by another auditor. The scheduler was quite understanding and helpful for a company that is very busy and in the middle of tech upgrades.

I know, this is a screwy and nutty situation and hard to believe that someone would go into someones vehicle to steal an SD card, but it is true. If I went into the specifics of the whole problem, 1- It would take too long and 2- It's mind blowing.

Again, thanks for the advice from you all. It'll all workout.

Techman, sorry for seemingly being pissed, but my response to your post was a couple of hours after this occurred and I was still quite upset.
Sometimes people forget that many of we "know-it-alls" have actually been there done that in some manner. My habit of copying pics immediately is because I forgot to move photos from a CORI gas audit to my computer and was renaming them while they were still on the card. Sure enough, I also managed to delete some and instead of going to a recycle bin where they could be restored, they were gone foreversad smiley
