How exactly does someone become a Certified Video Shopper? I'm considering buying video and voice recorders with my tax returns.
The only way I know is the certification workshop at the IMSC conferences. There's one being held in Atlanta in May 2013.

Yes, the certification is offered at the IMSC. I took the course in November 2012, and it was definitely worth it, both in terms of the knowledge gained and contacts made.
My understanding is Carrie Porhammer of Undercover Essentials is still conducting training. Last I heard she was working on setting up an online certification so that may be a possibility rather than the expense involved with traveling to a conference. A conference is a great experience if the cost is not an issue.

Just curious about whether anyone has experience with this company. I saw a posting in my area yesterday and looked it up and found no feedback at all. If they have been in business somewhere in the country since 1990 surely someone on the forum has done work for them. Anyone?
What types of video equipment are used for mystery shopping? Such as brand, price, etc.
I would like more information on this type of shop.

Thanks
it is an elite mystery shopping company. They are specialized in traditional shopping like video shops.phone shops they also provide a other number of services such as automotive dealerships, education, financial, and hospitality
I'll bite. What makes them "elite."

What type of video camera do you use for the video shops?
Go to Search and put in video or video shopping and all dates. We have quite a few threads covering most aspects of video shopping. The equipment is covert.

I registered with Advanced Feedback a few weeks ago, and I received an email confirmation with my e-signed ICA and registration information. As far as I can tell, there is no place for me to log in to the website to check for available assignments. Would someone confirm this, please? I'm guessing Advanced Feedback sends out emails when local opportunities are available. Thanks.

You are correct - right now, we directly email registered shoppers when local opportunities are available. We use the registration information you submit to determine your eligibility for shops, as many of our shops require a specific demographic. When scheduling, we contact shoppers that score 90% and above first, and do not contact anyone that scores below 70% on the shopper quiz in the registration. Of course, we try to use shoppers we've successfully worked with in the past whenever possible, so that minimizes our need for new shoppers in some areas also. If you live in any of the areas listed in the original post on top, you will likely be contacted within 1-3 weeks of registering if you meet the demographic needed and scored well on the shopper quiz.

We have been making changes to our website. The Evaluator Opportunities Tab is located after you clikc the 'Contact" tab on the homepage: www.advancedfeedback.com
***Update*** So I get a message from scheduler Michella that they have work in areas all over the country. I mention to her that the areas she has mentioned are those that I constantly travel in. I send her an email from my personal email inquiring if she can see my application, to which I've submitted to Advanced Feedback a total of 3 times. I have no idea as to whether I passed or failed their test, since their website does not indicate this. From here, I get nothing but crickets from scheduler Michella. Absolutely zero feedback, this 2 days later.

I don't quite understand this practice at all. If you are adamant on recruiting shoppers to conduct shops in certain areas and that a shopper says that he can complete the jobs in said areas, why does this company continue to ignore the call to execute the job? Makes no sense.

Hello Eric,

I just emailed you with an explanation of what happened in regards to the video shops you applied for, and why you were not assigned those shops. I believe Michella also responded to you earlier today as well. I really hope the email answers your questions, and clarifies our process of selection. I wish that we could assign shops to the first video shopper that emailed us! Would make my job so much easier. But, we offer our clients the chance to specify a shopper profile, and we have to find a shopper that fits the full profile they request...which in this case, was a female. Plus, we have a budget...and the closer a video shopper is to the route, the better. Or, if they are driving through the route to get to another one - the best!

We receive multiple emails from video shoppers, and in different ways! Some email us directly, some send messages through this forum, we get emails through our website, responses from ads elsewhere, etc. We are in the process of consolidating our video shopper profiles and emails so we can keep track of who is available where, but it is a process and will take some time. Also, we are working on a way to contact our registered video shoppers with monthly updates of what routes we need video shoppers for and the profiles we need - but for now, we're taking it one route at a time, one video shopper at a time.

***Update*** I received a very pleasant email from Juliet that explained the Advanced Feedback process. Seems to be very reasonable. From here, I just hope to await assignments within my area. We'll see.
I'd like to add my two cents and give a good word to Advanced Feedback and Michella in particular. I contacted Michelle back in March after seeing this post and she got me set up right away. Since then I've done about thirty phone shops and they've actually been quite a lot of fun! Feedback is returned the next day and it's been really helpful in making me a better shopper. Payment is also quick and I've just been really pleased with my experience so far. I'd recommend giving Advanced Feedback a try.
Just to bump this up with a thumbs up for Advanced. Just got payment for a restaurant shop completed exactly 2 weeks ago. NICE!
