Hi,

Wow - I usually do this oil change assignment on my Jeep and I looked on the board and the pay went down to $5. I just did one a month ago for $35 plus reimbursement. This is the second MSC I use that is lowering their payments. The other one was STN. What is going on? I know the economy is not any better, the jobs are the same; but I did see this other company paying $5 for oil changes (I haven't done any assignments for them), I wonder if that has anything to do with it??? Feedback anyone?

I had seen one shop posted for $50 and then I was told 20..the job boards had it at 18 and 24.
One of their reps told me they change fees depending on availability etc. Got to say I havent seen anything like that. Seems they wheel and deal.Strange.

Based upon the deadline requirement and needs of the scheduler they will bonus shops at any time of the month. I got an email for a luxury car dealership that pays $25. I told them that I would be happy to help them with it as long as they can increase the pay to $35. they said no problem and assigned me the shop at $35. This was not for an end of month deadline but for the beginning of the month.

I did a vechicle specific oil change for them in early Feb. I was paid for it yesterday. $55.

It's a free market economy. Maybe the client company requested a lower cost. Maybe the MSC is trying to make more profit. The reality is, we can pick and choose which assignments we want to complete. Now, if you signed up for one fee and were paid a reduced fee, that would be another issue.

My take is...if they lower they payment for same amount of work, they can at least pay quicker.

I seen the $5.00 oil change also. The last one I did was for $25.+ reimb. But, I have seen them for no extra pay just reimb. I was waiting for the pay to go up some. My other vehicle needs an oil change, but I'm not in any hurry.

I get my oil changed every 45 days. I get reimbursement only. I'm satisfied with that,

I wouldn't mind a bit of cash on top of the oil change, but given that an oil change's value is generally $35-40, I don't gripe too much about fees either, as long as the report is reasonable and the location is close enough. I don't have the right vehicle (or mileage) to do the higher-paying shops, anyway.

Nope, I did not sign up. I totally get that, if you sign then that is what you get paid. I sent an email to the scheduler, who usually responds to any email on any topic and they never responded back this time. I did find another company who does oil changes and some other stuff pays better and reimbursement.
