Does NSS have ANYTHING else besides the pizza photo shops? That's a LOT of work for simple reimbursement..

They used to have great Italian ice/ice cream shops....
They have a lot of shops in my area but I never take them as they pay very little. Otherwise a good company to work with.
Wait before taking these shops. They often call late in the month offering a bonus. Only then will I accept the shops.

i am new with this company.hope to get start on a good note. please let my know if this is a good company to work for.
I just got a call today for a bonus on one of their restaurant shops. I have never ever taken it at the amt they pay without the bonus. Gapbuster had the same exact shop at the same restaurant with the same report form for more than double the reimbursement. Since Gapbuster evidently thinks I am too old to eat I am no longer with them so don't know if their pay has gone down.
NSS has several different shops in my area and they are nice people and a nice company.
I received something for a jewelry store pay is to low $10.00
I have worked for them several times. True the pay is not that high but I try to place the shops with previously arranged routes. I have also worked an insurance job for them.
I have done a variety of shops for them, product audits, mattresses etc. The clients depended on the states where I shopped.
I do mainly grocery shops for them. They are great to work for and pay on time.
I've had good luck with them, too. Besides the dreaded pizza shops, in my area they do some movie shops, which don't pay that well but are fun and a free movie you can actually stay and watch.
I like their mattress shops. They are so easy and if you can get them bonused the pay is good for the amount of work involved.
I know they've been doing a lot for <cosmetics client> and competitors. Also, <grocery client> has been one of their gigs. They are a great company to pay for, even if they pay is usually a bit low.

<edited for ICA violations>
I just recently completed a pizza shop. It was my first assignment with NSS. By the time I completed the pictures (all of them), the pizza was cold. I downloaded pictures and completed report. Hit submit and waited. . . and waited. . . and waited. So I went to submit again and I lost my report. I entered again and this time it said it went through with a confirmation. Next morning I received a notice that my report was late. Well I called, and they did not have the report. They said, "All we have are the pictures and the person started to critique the pictures, "All are very good but in the future the side view could be . . . . . blah blah blah. I interrupted and said I called to find out about the report you did not receive. I gave the confirmation number, and was told they did not have it. So I said, I will entered it again and then they said, it has to be in before 4:30 p.m. (and there is a 3-hour time change between the company and where I live. So I said you will receive it shortly. The person on the other line started to tell me it would get much easier as I continue to do these pizza shops. I did not say, although I wanted to, "No way, cold pizza, too much time on the report, no incentive pay except reimbursement, what are you kidding me." One last thing, the pizza was not that good! So I say all that to say. . no more pizza for me.

I do agree about the pizza getting cold - depending on the price (for the dine-in shops), I'll usually order two pieces and eat one while I photograph the other. It's not more than $3 out of pocket, and it's worth it to me to not be starving while I take the pics.
I RARELY do anything for them, in my area they have liquor stores, will NEVER do that pizza again...once was more then enough torture. They simply don't pay enough for their shops until they are bonused.
They have retail and pizza here, however, they lost their main upscale retail, and their others have been cut in half from 20.00 to 10.00. They had a sports shop with a 10.00 reimbursement and no pay, problem being, you can't buy much for that $$.
Has anyone had trouble with cashing their check, please pm me.....

Irene: have you had trouble cashing their check? I just completed a shop for them so I am interested if there are problems.
In the Chicago area only pizza and a high end perfume company.
my bank informed me thta check I got from NSS not legidimate...

Shopping Eastern Pennsylvania since 2009
In my area, they have wine and liquor shops. Reimbursement only to a set amount. They go fast, and my wine rack is full.
gene: What do you mean not legitimate?
I tried to cash a 20.00 check at their bank and was told there account was on hold. They fingerprinted me and I called them and was told to have the bank call. Previously, when cashing their checks at my bank, I've never had trouble. The check was finally cashed, 40 minutes later, very troublesome.

That sounds a bit troublesome, Irene. Is anyone else having issues cashing checks from NSS? I deposited one this week and haven't been notified of any problems with it going through.

this is very disturbing. I hope I get my check soon so I can cash it before anything else happens to the company.
My checks have been on time. Their reporting software is unreliable and can be frustrating. The folks there are accessible and friendly.
Trendsource has the same pizza shops, but with $5 pay and sometimes bonuses.

Are the picture requirements as annoying? I'm not above jumping ship..
NSS *used* to have, for me:

beauty supply store shops
Asian fast food restaurant shops (might still have this client, but they closed both their stores in my area)
cookies/crackers/nuts covert audits
open house covert audits

I don't see any of these anymore. They still have parking, jewelry, and fashion shops, but I've done spot checking in other areas and it's obvious to me that the pizza company in question is their main client. Those pizza shops are also the main reason I stay an active shopper with them, because they still count for points in the chain's loyalty program if you have signed up for it.

Oh, and back when I did a lot of these, I was getting bonuses of $10 to $15, and after another shopper cancelled last minute, was once offered a bonus of $40 that I couldn't take advantage of.

I just had a similar situation. Mycheck was flagged by my bank last night and I was told that it was illegitimate. I am calling NSS this morning so I will update everyone with the results.
