Intellishop Hotel Comparison SHops

I was wondering if anyone has done the high end hotel comparison shops for this company?

I am not sure where to post this, but Intillishop, which does not pay anything for their high end hotel shops, is also now paying half of what another company was paying for their "high end" shopping centers. Up until a few months ago another company was paying twice the amount of money. As long as everyone keeps taking jobs for little to no money, the downward trend on pay will continue.
No, and they look like a bad deal. They reimburse 2 months later if you read the fine print. For expensive shops you want fast reimbursement.
These must be different from the hotels in my area. Everything is supposed to be charged to the room and with the exception of cash tips, all the charges are reversed within 10 days to two weeks.

@ LisaSTL: That is only for the specific brand. For the comparison shops, where you compare one hotel to the client's hotel the pay is by reimbursement 60 days later.
That is crazy. I'd be willing to do the ones with the charges reversed, but have no desire to wait 60 days for such a large reimbursement.

I'd only do a comparison shop if I was going to be in the area anyhow and needed a room.

I hope to get an opportunity to try some of these shops. I have not seen any posted in my state.

They are posted in Florida and y'all are welcome to them. The two hotel comparisons will come close to $1,000. You will also be out of pocket because they reimbursement for their brand does not cover a full meal, for one person. For the comparison hotel, which is not their client's brand, no meal is covered at all. It's a bad deal and I would not take them. I believe the two hotels have be done back-to-back.

Out of pocket, no reimbursement meal? Why would anyone take these?
I used to do hotel shops for Freeman Group but stopped because they take 12 weeks to pay. That is just too long to have to carry that debit in my account. And if I put anything on a credit card I have to pay big interest amounts while waiting to be paid. It is just not worth it.
It's a shame that Intellishop doesn't come here for free tips on their own company. Maybe they do and they just don't care.
The reason that people take these is because they have the rewards system-affiliated credit card for each of the two hotel chains, thus getting double, triple or quadruple rewards points for every dollar of hotel costs charged. That means that a one night stay at the high end hotel will produce enough points to pay for more than half of a one night stay at the mid-range hotels in that family of hotels.

So, pack an in-room picnic, some wine, a breakfast pastry, if breakfast i not covered, and enjoy an evening of luxury.

You have to be careful with that. In a comparison shop, only one set of expenses will accrue toward hotel rewards (because they are different brands, unless you happen to have both loyalty programs). Also, unless you have a hotel-branded credit card (they all have annual fees) it is hard to rack up quite enough points to make the finances work out. When converted to dollars most points are worth very little.

The shop reimbursements also don't cover the amount needed to pay for meals at these hotels. sad smiley

I am in hopes that a couple of those offered in previous months will be available here in June. Two of the local hotels are incredibly charming, one has an outdoor pool and the other a private courtyard surrounded by ivy covered walls. Either would be worth the report for an in town getaway. Both hotels have excellent restaurants and the shops cover dinner and at least one drink in the bar.

Riki,
Not all of the credit cards have annual fees, and, yes, shoppers who do the comparison shops have both rewards programs and both credit cards. Even for the aardfs that have annual fees, I net a ton of nontaxabe hotel stays every year. Cashing in about $1500 worth for a June trip of 10 days with my sister, and that's just last year's points.

It's all about planning and leveraging. If you are not going to do that, of course it won't pay!

I agree with wales mostly, which is the reason I shop a lot of hotels. I have a no annual fee Hilton card. Having gold, diamond and elite with the three major hotel chains, the points accumulates fast with each hotel stay. But, I would not take intellishop's comparison shop because you will go out of pocket for the required dinner. I shopped that particular hotel restaurant before and we barely covered a meal for two for $250; Intellishop offers $50. Breakfast reimbursement is also not enough for two.
