marketforce - i HATE your job search

What is up with doing a job search with Marketforce? Jobs just seem to appear randomly for me. Jobs won't appear in their own zip code but then they will show up when I search with another zip code. I HATE it. How difficult is it for them to fix this? It's simply ridiculous. Is everyone having this same problem? It can't just be me, right?

It happens to me all the time. I have to check several zip codes in my area to be able to see all the shops. I was hoping they would have fixed that with the recent upgrade.
I hate Kern's worse! It seriously gives me a migraine now to search.

Market Force just posted this on their FB page - if you switch to searching using the city, state function instead of zip code, you should get the full list of available jobs. Haven't tried it yet myself, but it's worth a shot!
Nice, but couldn't they just make it work the way it's supposed to? smiling smiley

In order for me to get a relevant search by city, I'd have to enter 13 individual cities to get the Phoenix Metro area -- Fountain Hills, Scottsdale, Phoenix, Glendale, Peoria, Surprise, Sun City, Avondale, Tolleson, Tempe, Mesa, Chandler, Gilbert. So much easier to go "200 miles from" my zip code which should actually encompass most of Arizona, but for some reason 100 miles won't get most of Phoenix. But whatever my 200 mile search would be missing, I'd never know, would I?

Guess I'll try entering all the cities once and see if anything pops up that doesn't come up on my 200 mile zip code searches. My biggest problem right now is MF isn't working with Chrome. I had to go to another computer and use Firefox (this computer hates Firefox) in order to use the search at all. Everything I tried to click through from the job page resulted in an error message.

I liked the old method better than this update. But just me. I have had same issue of it not pulling all shops within a small radius. I would use the 200 one to reduce that issue. But they have been a fabulous company to work for.
I just use a 200 mile radius and a zip code near (but not at) home. They have had problems for years with assignments not showing up with searches with smaller radii.
This reminds me of the "New Coke" Fiasco of 1985.... If it's not broke, don't fix it!

The city/state only search doesn't seem to work. I tried it the other day, and it kept prompting me to put in a zip code.
Since the new search began, I get almost nothing no matter how I search. I have tried a zillion different combinations. It has pretty much dried up for me so I wonder what jobs I'm missing now.

Just tried it and mine worked fine in Chrome, and I have stupid U-verse internet.
Here's what I don't understand: if I search within a certain number of miles of a zip code and I choose "All" for the types of shops, only a couple jobs pop up. But if I change "All" to categories like "Fast Food," "Casual Food," "Retail," etc, a lot more jobs pop up.

So does the "All" category not work correctly?
I still don't like their new job board and my monthly assignments with them have decreased dramatically because I can't stand checking their board. I get daily emails from Samantha (not high enough though). I think they may be getting fewer shops scheduled with their NEW & IMPROVED system. HA

Okay, I am REALLY frustrated. I searched for jobs this morning within a 25 mile radius of my zip code. Usually there are anywhere from 10-50 jobs posting. It showed zero. Then I changed the radius to 50 miles and 48 jobs show up, the majority which are 11 miles from my zip code.

What the heck?!?! I then tried several different combinations and it kept showing zero jobs. I wish I could cuss on this thread. This new job search function SUCKS!!!!!!! sad smiley
I hate it, hate it, hate it. I thought by now I would get used to it, but I still hate it just as much--no, wait. More!

I don't know what the old board looked like but I have no problem with the new one. Am I crazy?
I am not having as much trouble with the job search as I am having with the directions feature.

The classic MF site automatically put my address and the shop address in the TO and FROM and gave me the directions and the distance. The new site doesn't put in everything. You can't build a route when you have to go back and forth to a different site to get directions. UGhhhhhhh
I hate having to remember to put in an extended date for each search.

Me too! And I hate having to change the list number from 10 to 100 to show all jobs on one page. And, if you decline a shop, everything reverts back to a shorter date and short page listing.

A scheduler called me today to ask me to take a local shop and while I was on the phone I mentioned that I hadn't realized that shop was available because I had been having trouble with the new job board so hadn't looked in several days.

I also mentioned that many on the forum here were having issues with it.

She mentioned that it was designed for IE, and I CAN use it with IE, but it's basically useless on Chrome. so I guess they've decided to join CoRI in the "use my browser or else" category. REALLY annoying, especially since the browser they chose is the least secure browser out there now and most experts advise using either Chrome or FF instead.

She did say to let tech support know of any issues.
