Intellishop Therapy

Hey folks,

Seeing a few Intellishop rants, I thought I might share this experience as it was very therapeutic for me.

It had irked me for months that the guidelines for a particular shop had several typos, repeated menu items in the options list, and a few other issues.

I edited their work.

I emailed a regular scheduler and shared my thoughts. I started by saying how surprised I was that the guidelines had so many issues since their editors are famous among MS's. I suggested that they give the guidelines to THEIR editors, and I passed along a list of suggestions.

To my delight and astonishment, the next month the guidelines were completely revamped incorporating all of my suggestions. Great job editors!

Sadly, they did not change the report requirements about their tacos. I've started volume three of my series, "Fifty Shades of Tacos."

Oh, gack, I'm so sick of those tacos!

Great job editing the editors, though!

I have been with Intellishop since 2009 and have enjoyed a really good relationship with them. My first assignment was a little rocky; my report was returned to me, citing issues that were not on the report, but we got through it.

Currently, there has been issues with shops completed. 1) Shops that require coaching attendance, reported non attendance, when in fact I was the first person on the conference call. 2) One shop was rejected, stating I had quoted an incorrect amount of money to my target and the shop wasn't done correctly. 3) Another of the same kind of shops was also rejected but later corrected and reviewed by someone else, who gave a 10 rating.

Verbage in the rejected shop was quoted back to me from the person reviewing the shop, words I don't use. My question is, can an online form be changed once it's submitted?
Good job, Andrew!

Feliz- Oh THE COACHING! I was unable to make the time so he said he would call me in the next couple hours to coach me. I waited, waited, and waited. No call, EVER. Shop, canceled. Another shop I emailed several different times about asking what they would like me to do about a situation. No response. Shop, canceled. I was really enjoying them before that. Now I am sure I have to flake flags on my account and there is nothing I can do. BOO!

Yes, the editor can change your report after you submit it. Always keep a copy of the report you submit.

gosh, me too... I'm also sick of the question of how their tacos compare to taco chain tacos... lol.. sometimes I wonder why anyone would actually buy them at "that" place, at least here. Seems there's a taco time or a taco del mar next door at almost all of them in my area smiling smiley

I don't mind reporting on the tacos from that shop. What irks me is the question about how their tacos (in general) compare to other tacos. WHY must I write that every time? There are just too many taco questions. I think a better metric for them would be similar to Five Guys where you check any of 12-15 boxes to describe your burger or fries. It would be much easier to report, track, and make decisions.

Love the checkbox idea, Andrew. It would make it easier for all involved.

Maybe we should all sign a petition and send it to them with that suggestion!

I wonder what they would do if you replied, "No idea, I never eat fast food tacos except on one of your shops so I have nothing to compare with."

I submit almost exactly that statement, every time. I've never gotten any comment about it!

I say that I "rarely" eat fast food tacos, since I have maybe twice in my life. I then just comment briefly on the qualities of the tacos I received ~ taste, texture, fullness, etc.

If you are asking, can your report be changed after submission?

Yes, absolutely. It is done on a regular basis as a part of the service provided to the clients. They edit shoppers reports to conform to spelling, grammar, and perhaps form and content requirements of the client. They might change obvious spelling errors and the grammatical errors such as the dreaded quotation mark errors. In addition, they might change the order of observations to conform to the way the client wants it reported or even change how the report refers to certain items. For example, the client may want their restaurant referred to as 'restaurant', not location, store, branch, franchise, etc..

You may get a chance to see this first hand if a report is made available to you for additional information after the editor has had a first crack at it.

I wouldn't get upset about the practice. However, it is a good idea to keep copies of your submissions just in case. It is possible a scheduler will ask you questions without knowing what the editor has changed.
