In anyone else receving email every hour from GFK? It's making me nuts! I don't even bother logging in to look anymore.

Gee, think they are desperate to get their cells done? smiling smiley On the other hand it makes sense to check a couple of times a day because they indicate that the healthy sandwiches are to be done in March, there are only 9 days left in March and I've still seen none posted in my area.
Scheduler told me their next big roll-out of jobs would be major electronics store (and we know there aren't many left with Circuit City and Tweeter R.I.P.)... emails generated by them as excessive (and I shop the cell phone jobs for them!)

Another company has the healthy sub shops in Canada and they are all reveal, not the same as the company that currently has them in the states.
Not hourly, two or three times a week maybe. Cell shops, grocery and electronic. Healthy sandwiches may not have the same start date across the country. I believe these shops had staggered dates the last roll out.
I think we're getting them so often because they send one out every time ONE shop is added. Just a stupid feature of their software.
In my area the number of shops keeps growing, evidently without takers. We are up to 31. A friend elsewhere indicates there are 98 on her job board.
I have 180 shops availalble to me! But they are $9, which I just don't want to do. Has anyone done any of the cell phone store shops? How detailed are they?
I did the ones for $11. VERY easy.

I did the $9 variety. The questionnaire was a long list of "no"s for all the stuff not discussed. Then you got to a couple of questions that even a subsequent email "explaining" the questions did not clarify worth a hoot. By the time you do the photos, the visit and the report there is way too much time in this for a $9 fee.
I was going to do one today since I was going to the mall anyway. I went in and opened up the guidelines in a new window, read them over, then took the test "open book" style. I FAILED the test 5 TIMES and still can't pass it. I havae no idea what I'm doing wrong, but I've been mystery shopping for 9 years, and have a BA degree. I used to work as a 3rd Level Tech Support Rep for a UNIX based medical software system, but I can't pass a 10 question open book cell phone shop quiz??? This test was 10 questions and they don't tell you what you doing wrong. After 30 minutes, and then reading Flash's email, I emailed the scheduler and explained to her what I did and that I can't seem to pass the test so I am chosing not to perform the shop. I will be removing myself from GFK too. No more 80 emails in my inbox! Done done done.
Their quizzes are maddening. Isn't the point to prepare and educate the shopper and not leave them beaten up and infuriated? If an incorrect answer would be red ex'ed at the time, we would know where to focus. Most of GfK's shops require monthly re-takes of quizzes, and the questions and/or multiple choice answers can change each month.

The schedulers in my area offer quiz assistance. I'll attempt it once, no more than twice, then take them up on their offer as needed. Record my answers, and send them to the scheduler - - - 1a, 2c, 3b, etc. Within 12 hours, I receive assistance.
I'm with all of you on the quizes. They should let us know what is missed so, we know exactly what to focus on. Our time is valuable, too. And we go through all of this so we can qualify for a shop, only to come back home and spend however long it takes to enter and meet their demands in the computer.

I've been lucky on the GFK quizzes, but I also found that certain areas use Kern as their schedulers and those work much better for me, as I can work direct with them.

I too, was receiving bunches of their emails and I just got to where I wasn't responding to them at all and now they've slowed down to a normal pace. They must have had some glitch somewhere. Wish they would all have a direct link to click on from the particular email. That sure makes it easier to reach the site quickly and see what's there.
Dee, Arent the 11.00 shops for the current customer of the phone shop. Does anyone know how to get around that? I have another cell provider for my cell phone.
Yes, I have a new iPhone, that is ATT, its a super easy shop, and I did all 3 near me.

From what I saw you have to actually inquire about an account. If you know someone who has AT&T you could probably pose as them. Just a thought.
I agree $9.00 is just not enough. I guess they are desperate. I have been getting and email everyday. $11.00 for the AT& T customers.
A quick update on the one I did where I got an email to send in the business card postmarked no later than the following business day and got it late enough in the day I did not dare just put it in my mailbox at the house. My postal delivery had happened for the day and there is no guarantee that the letter will be postmarked the day the delivery person picks it up.

So I printed the 2 page email, an envelope, put a 42 cent stamp on it and took off for the post office to make sure I protected my $9 fee. The other day I got paid for the shop and reimbursed 42 cents for the stamp. I figure it cost ME money to do this shop because of the unforseen extra miles to the post office to insure I got paid on a shop that was only break even to start with.
I have not been asked to mail anything on my 3 service shops yet; it is too soon to know about the ones done this weekend to see if I have to for those.

I did the quiz for the sales one on Saturday, right after I accepted the 2 slaes shops. Maybe it was because had already done 3 service shops, but I passed it on the first try and I thought it was super easy. I am wondering if they made it easier after people kept complaining about it, as I am aware of people saying it was difficult on several forums.

It's weird. I can't say that it was difficult, but to me it almost seemed like there could have been multiple answers, based on opinion rather than stated fact from the training. I know that is where I went wrong. But if, say, there were 2 answers like that on the test, but I don't know which question I got wrong and each question had 4 choices... faggetaboutit! (said in my Jersey accent)
When it takes 11 tries to do their damn quizzes and every time it says "you moron, try again because we love to jerk you around" I say ENOUGH and won't do any more for them.
