Watch Out for Cirrus Marketing

contact your state attorney general. They will investigate Cirrus for free and evaluate if there is fraud or not. But from my experience when there is a consistant pattern of years of several workers not being paid, shoppers are following the rules, and shoppers are compliant. It is fraud. The state will indict the company and executives for wrongful deception. It is not a matter of bad business. They are basically withholding due diligent pay willfully over years among several people around the country through no fault of their own. These people are contacting the company and the company is either deleting their status or ignoring them.

It is fraud!

I did one shop for this company. I found the way they required the invoice sent to be redundant at best. They have an online report. If you file the report online they can add an invoicing line as many companies do - directly into that form. That said, that is not the reason I will never shop for them again.

The actual shop took hours in the store for me. Next, the question I was required to ask about a dozen "Sales People" was answered in HUGE posters all over the walls everywhere you looked in the store. Why the heck didn't they just send me a sticker to plaster on my forehead that said "Mystery Shopper"?

This same shop is always posted in my area. Every few days the shop is emailed and they advertize a huge bonus ($5) because they have so many shops that need to be done. I saw the bonus get to $10 once and I emailed the scheduler and told her I would do the shop for $125. I received a rather rude reply – something about it not being a “name your price” company.

In a nutshell, hours in the store asking a really stupid question, purchase and return, and eat in the cafeteria with hours more filling in the report – the slow pay of three to four months and a stupid invoicing game back and forth a couple times is not the reason I will never shop for them again!
Sorry riskfree1
You are 100% wrong
I agree
It is a Sh**Y business practice to take stretch out payment terms. (they are not the only slow payer)
But IT IS IN NO WAY FRAUD!

Payment terms are CLEARLY spelled out before performing the shop.
If you missed that before doing a shop that was laziness on your part.

Good luck with a state attorney general,. you'll get laughed out of the office.

There is a MAJOR difference between slow pay and NO PAY
Cirrus does pay, you just gotta wait.

And you are an IC, Not an employee
the AG will tell you to file suit in court
Halavai!! They are on my never do again list.
I, personally, think they may be skirting the 'fraud' line, as they do NOT pay to their own written pay schedule. It took 6 months and multiple follow ups from me to get the one shop paid for that I very mistakenly took the risk of accepting from them.

I agree, if they post their payment schedule, follow it, and pay per it, then it is definitely not fraud.

On the other hand, I am convinced that if I had not made a written/verbal and finally a written "I'm going to report you to the BBB" letter to them, I would never have been paid at all.

BTW-the gal I spoke to in person, and that finally paid me told me that you 'no longer had to send the invoice in'. I told her that it stated that you did in the instructions, and she told me that they were 'outdated instructions'.

Uh huh....
At the risk of sounding the same all over again. Cirrus is the absolute most difficult MSC in the entire grabag. They not only pay slow if at all after they find ways not to pay. ie: wrong person in the wrong department. Shopper fault!! I wish I could rant and rave about how bad they really are but I am sure that some other shopper would berate me for writing bad stuff about msc people. Enough said and I will not trash them any more. It is not worth the time after a while. Caveat Emptor
