I would be concerned about a company that I was not signed up with and did not know. However, if the call went "This is ____ and I'm with XYZ. I got your name from _____ as a shopper in your area. We need to have a _________ done by _______ and I wondered if you were available?" I would hear them out. Obviously I would not accept a pig-in-a-poke job for a town I had never heard of. I keep a list of towns and cities within about 50 miles of me with the distances. The list is near the phone. But I would not go off on a distant shop for a company I had never heard of and had never signed up with.
