Albatross Global Solutions

In searching Jobslinger, I came across Albatross Global Solutions. They say they shop luxury in US, CA, and MX. Anyone heard of them or worked with them? They are not listed in the official list here.

HA! I *just* signed up with them like 2 minutes ago. Everything on their job board pays in Hong Kong Dollars and I saw nothing in the western hemisphere.

I don't remember how I found them, I had a list of 5 or 6 that I'd seen in different places that I wanted to apply for.

I've been signed up with them for a couple of months. They don't have a lot of shops in the US, but I think they may be worth registering with nevertheless.
I remember seeing a scheduler message in the introductions section on this forum for Albatross in just the last few days.

Shopping across Indiana but mostly around Indianapolis.
I have shopped for Albatross, they paid in US dollars as promised. Great to work with, schedulers were easy to reach, shops paid well. I remember the reports were narrative heavy, but appropriate to the shop fee.

I recently found this company on Jobslinger too, and LOVE them. The schedulers are great. I do live in a big city, and they don't have much, but I've done some high end retail shops as well as some cosmetic consultations. The cosmetic ones don't pay anything, but reimburse you anywhere from $50 - $200 of free stuff, which worked out great for me as I was in need of a few things. They also pay extremely fast (in USD). I'd definitely recommend if you see anything in your area!
I had to come into this thread to see if this was a real company. According to Wikipedia, "The word albatross is sometimes used metaphorically to mean a psychological burden that feels like a curse." Which is sort of what I thought, but I couldn't think of the wording, and liked theirs. smiling smiley

Why would someone name their company this? Are they not English-as-1st-language speakers? Just curious.

They do sound well-recommended. I'll have to check them out.

Oh, just logged back in and see many more things than I did last night. They really are global. Found some in the US but nothing near me.

My experience with Albatross Global leads me to these conclusions:
The vast majority of their assignments are overseas, so they are great to sign up with if you are a world-traveler!
Their assignments tend to be in large metropolitan cities or surrounding areas: definitely sign up if you live in New York or San Francisco.
They tend to shop luxury brands of clothing and accessories as well as higher-end cosmetics.
Their reports are a little more time-consuming than some due to the narrative and the way the sections are broken-out, but their pay is fair.
Their schedulers are pleasant.
Their job board is sometimes difficult to search due to filtering problems.
I have done 3 assignments with them, and they were all luxury. They like to talk to you on the phone, and they have a New York office. They paid quickly and in USD via paypal. I like them.
Oh, and do you live near Vail? My "real" job is in that area, so I travel there and I've had great luck with bonused shops in the area. I don't think they have many shoppers there, so I would wait until things are heavily bonused rather than signing up for them as they post.

I noticed that they are not on the Mystery Shopping Companies list on this web site.
Me too StormCloud. Funny name!

Love these gals but do not think you can depend on these shops with 12 month rotation at one of two per client. For those used to doing regular rotations, it's not happening here.
They're a great company to work with. When I began doing shops, they were the first one giving me an assignment. I live in Los Angeles, so they had plenty of shops.

Most of the shops are NOT on the job board, you'd better contact the scheduler in person.

I did a total of 20 shops for them, the pay is good for the amount of work required. I even got a gift one day from one of their clients, I had filled a last minute shop...

It's been a couple of months though that they don't have much to offer - but overall, yes! Great company!
I have been registered with this company for awhile but never applied for a shop even though they do have some in my area. I broke down this morning and applied for a high-end watch shop. My application is pending and a little box popped up that send I have to take a certification test for this shop and click on the link. After doing so, I got a message that says "access denied."

How am I supposed to take a certification test if I don't have access to the test? Has anyone else been in this situation with this company? If yes, how did you get the issue resolved?

I had the same problem a while back.
At that time The scheduler told me until the shop is assigned you can not take the certification test.
Don't know if that policy changed?
shops are easy for them
Yes, I have done shops with them and the schedulers are amazing. I had a series of illnesses and family situations, and they kept extending my deadlines because I have done some good shops for them. I don't think they do a lot of shops other than the big cities, but I would keep them on my list. I enjoy working for them a lot!
I have done one or two shops for them. Easy to work with and pay on time.

Shopping Western NY, Northeast and Central PA, and parts of Ohio and West Virginia. Have car will travel anywhere if the monies right.
They had a shop in Little Rock, Arkansas for a while but it was only for a male shopper so I couldn't apply for it. I haven't seen anything else on their job board since that isn't out of the country.

Newbie with lots of questions!

I have completed a shop for this company. If there were more in my area, I would be ecstatic smiling smiley They pay as promised, and quickly. The pay rates are good, and the assignment I did had narrative, but it was not hateful. They do high end shops, so a shopper would need to dress the part (I would not do this one after a route of gas station shops). Two thumbs up for the company and schedulers.
