First shop for Aboutface

I started this 'Journey' about a month ago. I am really enjoying it and have decided to check out all of the companies I can and this week it's devoted to new accounts. My question is that I decided to apply for a make up shop for Aboutface and I don't remember what my scenario is exactly. It wouldn't be a problem but I actually scored that job. Is there a way to get that information? Most of the companies I have done work for are using the sassie system and Aboutface uses the prophet system. I'm not really familiar with that system. I would appreciate any help. Thank you in advance.

About Face does not use Prophet or Sassie. They use different software. Log onto your account and the scenario should be on your homepage. You can also contact them at (678) 989-2290.
Thank you. I thought it was prophet. I know it's not sassie. I've come to enjoy that software. I will look again.
AF uses ShopMetrics. On your home page, click on your assignment and you will see the guidelines.

Signing with MSCs alphabetically? smiling smiley When I started, I signed up with the big four at that time, MarketForce, Bare, Maritz, Corporate Research International. After that, I signed up alphabetically from the list provided here.

Good luck, karlajo!
I've done several of those makeup shops for About Face. They're actually my favorite shops. The forms aren't too tedious and About Face is a very good company. You might want to wait for the pay rates to go up on these shops before you accept them as rates can vary widely for performing the same shop at different times of the month. I've seen these shops pay between $12 and $40.
I shop for them, too. They don't seem to have many shops in my area (Texas) but when they pop up, I grab them!
I like them, but am going to start waiting until their shops get bonused before taking them! For a shop that's hard to fill, I've seen bonuses at three or more times the original posted rate!

I've had a really hard time getting into their site lately and can't get a response via e-mail or live chat about it (live chat never seems to be!). So I'll call them on Monday. That being said, when I left them a voice mail after hours about a shop, they called me back the next day. And the scheduler I've worked with is wonderful about answering e-mails in a timely fashion!

I learn something new every day, but not everyday!
I've learned to never trust spell-check or my phone's auto-fill feature.

I've done several for them. They are in the cosmetic departments of upscale department stores. Be sure to check by phone to assure your artist is there. One went on maternity leave and AF didn't notify me till too late. Serves me right for being too confident. These products are very expensive but you won't be pressured. The form is easy to complete.
I have done lots of shops for them. They are my favorites. You have to call to confirm the person is going to be there. I tend to skip that part. It only worked against me one around Thanksgiving. They pay promptly.
I have read so many threads about targeted shops and the problems with them that I have been hesitant to take any of them. I see the targeted makeup shops on Aboutface all the time (never ever bonused in Los Angeles except once in December where it disappeared and reappeared several times before it must have finally been done). So my question is...for $20 is it easy to find the target if you call first and is the job worth it? Is the target generally around when they say they will be?
I have done a few shops for Aboutface and I just ran into an issue with a current assignment with them. I won't name the company, but the shopper is to get a broken electronic device repaired and evaluate the service. Well, the scheduler asked in advance what my issue was and I explained it to her so she assigned the shop. After I entered the shop, Aboutface told me that my shop was going to be rejected because my issue to be fixed (software issue) was not what they wanted. I explained and forwarded my email conversation with the Aboutface employee who scheduled my shop but they still did not pay me. Maybe they will change their mind but it has already been several days. Really annoys me.

They seemed like a good company but instances like this make me think they are a bit underhanded/sneaky. Apparently not all their employees are on the same page and the shopper gets screwed as a result... unfortunate.
RickM I inquired about those repair shops and it seems there is a specific list of what can be "repaired". Since I do not have the devices on the list or need them repaired if I do I have not done one as I don't want the hassle for the fee alone. I also looked into the prices and found this shop would go a ways towards paying for many repairs but you still might have out of pocket. I believe the recent broadcast emails I have gotten are more specific about the types of things they are looking for but even before, if memory serves me, it did not look to me like they wanted a software type repair.
Good luck...I hope you get some satisfaction since this shop was pretty vague based on the instructions available before accepting the shop.
I could have sworn one of the scenarios included software installation. I'm still trying to figure out who would actually need someone else to install software on their computer.

Someone like my mother who only knows how to forward emails, but not start a new one.
Someone like me who has a spouse that does these things. I would be totally at a loss on great coffee in the morning and computer stuff and someone to order the 2nd entree on a fine dining shop who I can trust not to leak info. On the other hand, the list goes on and on of what he would need to learn! if I was not around.

Rick M. I've had MANY issues with AboutFaceCorp. too.
While they might have LOTS of shops to do, they don't pay very well, you MUST spend $$ to do the shops often, & they're OFTEN far away &
they give you NO BONUSES for all the gas you must spent to get up to their shops either.
Their editors, some of them, will make you WAIT an entire week AFTER
you do their shops, just to insist on additional answers to their report.
How can you remember shops done over a week ago?
Beware of this company if you really need to make money to pay your bills.
We actually did only one shop that was an hour's drive away that was SUPPOSED to
pay us $35 but they rejected the shop for deceitful reasons.
We did the shop fully but it still didn't get accepted.

I don't trust this Company anymore.
They also CLAIMED you couldn't do
ANY Follett shops if you did them within 6 months but it doesn't
STATE it anywhere on their site or guidelines you can only do the shop
EVERY 6 months either.
Their employees/editors are quite negligent & deceitful in many cases.
I'd beware of shopping for them if mystery shopping is your only occupation.
They waste tons of your time & your money.

You are an independent contractor. In other words there is nothing putting you in a position where you "must" spend the gas to get to an assignment. Ask for a bonus to cover gas AND time. If they refuse the extra dollars you can just refuse the assignment.

Notes maybe? Any written notes or audio/video recordings of an assignment should be kept until after you are paid.

What was the reason they gave for denying the shop?

A week is not that long to wait for clarification. While all of us would prefer it to be asked quickly, the questions may not actually arise until someone at the location if you put some information that just does not seem right. By the time it goes through editing, the main corporate office, regional management, and the actual location, it is easy to see why.
