Reality Based

I started shopping about 9 months ago. I am signed up with about 50 companies and actively working for about 15 of them. I have done 43 shops for Reality Based and I enjoy working with them very much. I have had no problem with pay, you get paid on the 20th for the previous months shops. They have a good variety of shops, from audits, to retail, car service, restaurants, banks, and occasional higher paying shops. The schedulers are great. I have some medical issues, and often have to reschedule my shops. They have all been really good about it, and I make sure I schedule shops that aren't due immediately. The proofreaders are good too, my average report grade is 9. Just yesterday I received a 9, even though they had to contact me, and have me go back into the report, because I forgot to comment on a "no" answer. I usually automatically get docked 2 points if they contact me. I think they are prompt with return emails, well, okay, not always prompt, but quicker than other companies are. I can't say a bad thing about them.

I just did 3 shops for them so I'm glad to read your good review. I took my toddler along to one of the bakery shops and she had so much fun that I hope I can keep working with them, it was worth it just to see her covered in icing and hopping up and down hehe.

I just freaking love their name.

Every time I see it, I picture a bunch of hipsters drinking craft brews and commuting to work on their vintage bicycles. In plaid.
Not quite so hip, Kate. Early last year I spoke with a couple of their folks who were unfamiliar with PV-500 technology and product when they were booking video shops. I was not the only shopper who had that experience. Another one shoped them a clip and the response was that the guy was "dazzled."

Poor customer service? Don't get mad; get video.
I shop for them and have for years. They have good shops, (dinner) and other shops. Hope to continue shopping for them.
Anybody know how to actually get an answer from them when you have a question?

I've emailed a couple times in the last few weeks and no replies... unless you call a "flake" citation as a reply.

I did several jobs for them far out of town. Noticed right away that the shop date on one was over a week after the shop dates on the others. Couldn't do it, couldn't get a reply... but did get a citation.

Reality Based is one of my favorites and the schedulers are awesome to work with.

Another example of people having different experiences with different companies. I emailed one scheduler about some shops and never got a reply. Did a shop for the same scheduler, emailed with a question about it and got a reply 2 days later. Not what I would generally refer to as "awesome to work with."

I like them a lot as well, especially when I get to buy lovely items like kitchen rugs and couch pillows from their shops. I've had no issues, the scheduler, Robin seems very nice that I work with most often.

I wish they had more stuff in my area. They only have one restaurant, which I can only apply for every 60 days. I LOVE that place. Reimbursement is reasonable, but flat-fee.

I think I did another set of shops for them, when they seemingly had a short-term project.

I just wish they'd let you know if you got a shop or not (that email Sassie companies often send automatically that you either got it, or it's been assigned to another shopper).

I've never had problems with them in the past, but I did a restaurant shop for them in January. My shop log shows the payment made on Feb 20, but it never posted to my PayPal account. I double checked my email address with Reality Based, and it's correct. I called PayPal, and they said there's no record of any payment of that amount being made to my account. I've emailed Robin 3 times now...on my second message, she replied that she would send my inquiry to accounting. No response from accounting either. What's frustrating is that I can't find a phone number anywhere on their website, so the only way I have to follow up is to continue emailing Robin, and as a scheduler, this really isn't her problem. I feel bad bothering her again, but this was a $35 fee, so I'm not inclined to just let it go.
I really like working with them as well. Everyone is pleasant and friendly. I have had one citation (wind storm killed the internet for a few days). They are in my most frequient MSC since I restarted shopping. I like the grocery, dinners/lunches, etc.
